    Then you are wrong.
Whoops... that's what I get for mistaking "==" for "!=".
  2. Let's not forget their total excess of legs. That would probably account for some of their insane parry/riposte abilities. And their incredibly speed (let's not forget how many times your party gets "ambushed" by a horde of chitrachs in what was moment before an empty corridor) would also help.

I thought the Chestguard didn't encumber.

  5. Ouch, that stretches the screen.

    1) I agree that it's probably a reset_dialog() problem.

    2) Take out the end(); that's within the if-statement. That's what's keeping the state from getting to the set_flag() call before the second time through.

    3) Funny how that works. Happened to me a lot as well.

I imagine that they'd be no worse than those giant chiefs with invulnerability potions. Those things last forever. At least you can still do some damage through an Arcane Shield.

And at least no NPC ever, ever, EVER cast Sanctuary in A2. That'd have been unpleasant.

    It was awful.
I remember running in, down some path to the north, getting one of my casters killed, and running back out as quick as possible. It was depressing, and it didn't make it any easier to get through the whole thing. It seemed that I only got people killed when I was as far as humanly possible from Mertis.

I'm just glad the wolves left me alone. Not that it would've been difficult, but it would've been annoying.

Daze can hit just about anything (except pylons), in my experience. It has saved my party of all magic-users from certain doom many times. Slimes are a particularly good target for the spell.

And it certainly made that quest easier...

Perhaps I should rephrase what I meant:

Nephil PCs tend towards being frail characters, in that players are encouraged to develop characters low on defense. After all, Nephils make the best archers and thieves, neither of which are renowned for defensive ability.
  10. Generally speaking, the skills trainers are exorbitantly expensive. In fact, they're so expensive that you'll have no cash left over for gear or (more importantly) spells.

It's much easier to just buckle down and drop one or two levels into those secondary skills along the way. (2 First Aid on every PC works wonders)

  11. Okay, answers...

    1. Well, a few points can't hurt. And after all, you can buy them somewhere along the line. But don't try and make their bows their primary weapons, except on a designated archer. After all, pole weapons are insane in this game, and it's a shame to miss out on the absolutely unbelievable amounts of damage they deal, just so you can ping stuff from afar. The special bows aren't focused on damage, after all... it just matters that they hit the target.

    2. Well, humans don't get an xp penalty. That's the main difference. And again, don't forget that nephil are designed to be rather frail, so a slith (for massive damage-dealing and some fire resistance) and a human (for quick leveling-up) wouldprobably balance out the party a bit.

EDIT: This is what I get for trying to think through a reply... I get pre-empted by two other people.
