X... Man or Woman?
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Timmy, Power Gamer's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
x is COOL! one doesnt just walk around and ask questions like that about a cool person! -
oh yeah, forgot that. sry. i never found that damn house...
-
for questions on boa, please post in the boa subforum. and hawke's manse is the only house you can buy i a3. still, killing a townsman/woman and occupying his/her house is fun, too.
-
magi, you are very annoying. please calm down, ok? but anyway, to answer question c: you can buy hawke's manse in lorelei from some guy in town in his office. to be a merchant is simply to buy stuff from another merchant and sell it to another one, who has it more expensive. (buy food in kriszan and sell it in fort emergence, for example)

The Golem Factory - hayulp!
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
yeah, keep that rounding a corner and mass healing stuff in mind. i wouldnt recommend ignoring the factory, though. if you think the golems are tough, wait for footracer province. -
The Golem Factory - hayulp!
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
thats the usual method, yes. personally, ive only played through the whole game once, and that party didnt have any problems at all in the golem factory. cant tell you where to prepare, sry. -
Being kept out of Sharimik
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Erik Norvelle's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
hm. im almost sure that you can get into sharimik using ernests portal, too. otherwise, just do as those above have already said. -
I don't feel guilty...
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
or one could just take the package, save and use the "take out of town" option in the editor. -
the last battle
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to muskie powers's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
or if you did the laser thing correctly, she doesnt show up because youre not close enough to the panel. she doesnt come because you fight, but because you try to get to the controls. a special encounter window will show up when youre near enough. -
A3 questions
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Zephyr Tempest's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
weird. normally, your summoned creatures get hostile if you attack them. a2 is filled with ice and flame hydras. in the vahnatai lands and the waterfalls between the two realms you will find like a hundred of em. -
A3 questions
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Zephyr Tempest's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
attack them keep in mind that your hydras wont be as strong as real ones, unless you use simulacrum. bad situation, huh? -
A3 questions
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Zephyr Tempest's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
hm. i could swear i posted in here last night. oh well. seems as if i really was as drunk as the others tell me. however. vampires definately are more powerful. there are some places you can encounter flame/ice hydras, i cant think of any particular place atm though. if im right, ice hydras can deal out more, but flame hydras have a better defense. all in all, i find ice hydras stronger. -
A3 bug?
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Zephyr Tempest's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
sure but dont monsters also have melee attacks? fireballs? etcetcetc? one can charm/confuse those, too. edit: ah ok, i got it. acid is no direct attack, its stored in the "monsterinfo" or whatever that has been attacked. the computer can tell where the fireball etc came from, though. right? -
A3 bug?
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Zephyr Tempest's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
why is that so? doesnt make sense to me. you casted it yourself, didnt you? so why shouldnt one get exp from acid? -
Doomguard - arrgh!
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
the ur-basilisk-thingy is a great idea. why didnt i come to think of that?? if leaving really works, maybe it should be tried out. though i dont think that working your way all the way out of the dungeon and back again doesnt pay off just for a couple of doomguards. i also think that they arent that much of a problem. i think theyre fun. dark wyrms, however, are a different story. -

amen. -
Doomguard - arrgh!
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
my tactic is always to attack the doomguard with the least hp. otherwise, they will multiply before anyone of them dies. KILL FIRST - MULTIPLY THEN -
A2-little help please
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to The Wanderer's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
to get to the island with limoncellis fort on it (hss-kss former fortress, if that helps you better), steal a boat from the giants on the eastern coast of the giant controlled lands west of ne avernum and north of fort dranlon. if i remember correctly, there are some waterfalls around fort dranlon so you cant get there from silvar. dont forget that you have to enter pyrogs cave from the north, through solid cave wall. -

A2 Resolution
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Boeing's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
try and press the "ask at...." button again. if that doesnt work, try pressing option or ctrl or something at startup. works with most other games. -
How much dosh?
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
"if you lose your gold in the editor, you lose it in the game." "but i thought the editor wasnt real?" "your characters make it real." (which film? can ya guess? ) -
How much dosh?
Rent-an-Ihrno replied to Gunshy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
actually, hawkes manse costs 8k. you dont actually need anything to win the game. but if you want to expierence as much as possible without cheating, you will need much, much more.
