  1. The answer to the all-fire route, late in the game, is using a mix of kyshakks, cryoa/cryodrayks, and drayks/drakons. Kyshakks are not as effective as wingbolts, but their lightning aura effect is very good, and their relative weakness is really only important when facing enemy wingbolts or gazers. The cryoa and drayks can deal with enemy wingbolts. Gazers are the biggest problem since they resist fire, ice, AND magic attacks. War tralls aren't as bad since all the 3rd-5th tier fire shaping creations have some physical resistance. Cryoa are probably adequate to get you by until you get drayks and kyshakks, against anything other than a golem.

Actually, I think it goes for less than the fyora scale alone. 62 for the shield ring and 100 for the scale, IIRC.
  3. What do the spectral boots resist? I thought all the spectral items were energy resist.
  4. Vlish -- open the item info windows. You will find that the Projection Belt gives a 5% resistance bonus to your creations (not sure which stat, I forgot the numbers). The Fyora scale shield does too. And the Spectral Boots do as well -- I think they might give the energy resistance.
  5. Then do us a favor and check your equipment before we argue further.
  6. Then that sounds like it used a chomp that dealt fire or ice damage. Could be a unique NPC specific attack. Assuming you are using "absorbed" to mean "resisted".
  7. Can you take a screenshot of a beta resisting magic? Or, heck, can you just quote the numbers -- damage listed as taken and damage listed as resisted -- for a few magic shots?
  8. I am locking this thread. DV, Uber Ur is getting to you, clearly, but I don't think he's trying to. He's clearly trying to be funny. Whether or not he is succeeding is a good question, but he isn't acting with malicious intent. And please, let's not throw around week-long bans like they are icy crystals!
  9. Literally THE ONLY DIFFERENCE between alphas and betas is the base level. The beta record imports the alpha record. It changes the name, the color, the base level, and the regen rate (which only affects NPC creations). If you mean compared to bugs: again, bugs resist physical at 30% and poison at 100%. Alphabets resist phys at 40% and fire & ice at 20%.
  10. You don't *need* either one, but they are by far the easiest ways to survive the game.
  11. No, in G3 she says that Ghaldring found her in the woods when she ran away; she's very specific about that. She's also specific about the fact that she ran away immediately after her Watcher dismissed her attack on his life. Apparently Ghaldring sensed her fear and distress and came to find her. (Drakon empathy!)
  12. One more question. Have you used any PC-moving cheatcodes, particularly "backtostart"? That can sometimes cause odd problems. It has for me.
  13. This topic deserves to fall victim to a bovine thud. He and She is not pleased.
  14. That reminds me. Did anybody else feel cheated by the hidden G5 ending where Ellhrah wakes up from a long, weird dream about the Shapers?
  15. Good point -- her canister addiction and subsequent withdrawal may have messed with her memory.
  16. Litalia's backstory has been completely rewritten between G3 and G5. In G3 she says that, as a neophyte shaper, she was taken on a mission to kill serviles and shape new ones by her Watcher (a la Shanti in G2). She did so, felt guilty, tried to kill *him* (emphasis on the gender -- her watcher was not Shanti), failed, then fled and was found by Ghaldring in the woods. In G5 she implies she was a full shaper ("making the required hordes") before being sent to "a village called Drypeak" to deal with "a rogue shaper." The fact that she was sent to just the village suggests that the G2 PC actually died, because the other endings either involve Drypeak Village becoming irrelevant, or are noncanonical for more obvious reasons (eg, barrier of the winds). Anyway, in this new story she slaughtered all over Drypeak Valley until she met Ghaldring in the underground lair where he had been incubating.
  17. Hume -- that was a bad typo on my part. I meant to write "turn the AI on" and "never turned the AI off". I think that was clear, since the AI is off in 99% of Geneforge games.

In G5, there is no difference between levels creations gain at inception and levels they gain from experience. (Well, except the skill points.) In each case it is +1 to all stats for every 2 levels.
  19. I should still check on that. I got distracted, and there are many more distractions now that Monday is almost here. Oh well.

Perhaps it should be retired to the Krazy Kwilting Korner. —Alorael, who may have just made things worse.
  21. Weird. Spiderweb normally has a quick turnaround for these kinds of emails. They are probably on holiday for Thanksgiving just like everybody else. I'd expect to get an email back (with your correct code) tomorrow morning at the latest.
  22. No, Dikiyoba, you're thinking of the [anaximander]tag[/anaximander].
