When you download the editor, you need to right click (Windows) or option click (Macintosh) and "save as". Do NOT open the file directly in your browser and then save it, this causes the line breaks to get screwed up.

I'm surprised it's even possible to kill Lord Rahul at this stage of the game.
-
3D might be pretty to look at, but I hope the gameplay won't discriminate against those of us with zero spatial awareness.

You don't have enough mechanics skill / tool use. Try equipping tinker's gloves if you've got them. If you can't switch off the machine, you'll just have to suffer more golem attacks. They aren't so tough.

Also, you could have just left the death part blank...since killing me would (besides extremely hard) be a bad idea. -
If the lack of lore is disturbing you, you may wish to check out the Encyclopaedia Ermariana .

Don't fully understand the question...
The training room for skills in Fort Emergence is in the North East Corner.
If you need to train in the first 7 priest spells, try Pergies (west of Krizsan). If you need to train in the first 7 mage spells, try the Inn of Blades (north-east of Krizsan). You may find the Valorim map useful.
-
You need to go to a training room. There's one in Fort Emergence.

What's with all the island questions today?
Quote:Originally written by foreverpoe:why would they put an inaccessible island in the game?
In fact this particular island is accessible. Try approaching from another direction.

Isn't it enough that he adds a bit of color?
I can't really remember, but I think maybe somebody later on gives you a letter to deliver to him.
-
Agreed, that was fun.
-
It doesn't break the game either, you can still win.
-
Edit: Forget it.
-
Rubbish. In Geneforge 4, unhasted with 8AP, you only get one attack.
Edit: Or is it possible this is yet another difference between the Windows/Macintosh versions?
-
So that would be the same as Geneforge 4, then.
Requests for Avernum 5:
* Don't put the quicksave and quickload keys right next to each other, it's too easy to hit the wrong one
* When closing dialogue windows, be consistent whether you need to hit "1 - OK" (where that is the only option) or a checkmark button at bottom right
-
Gah, what would really save me time is if QuickLoad wasn't right next to QuickSave. The number of times I must have had to play the same fight twice because I hit load instead of save...

I can't remember if he actually gives you the control rod, but he definitely gives you something to help in Maker's End.
-
Did you talk to Khyryk before heading over to Maker's End?
-
Well done Dikiyoba, now it makes sense. TJC Shaper has erroneously attributed significance to Riibu's accidental omission of no. 10, when labelling her map.
-
I seem to remember Morrowind also had a fatigue system, where you got tired from fighting and had to go rest up (separate from health).
-
What are you talking about? Zone 10 is the Thorny Fen.
