Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
I've read here that it's possible to steal the great gruesome charm from Rawal rather than fight the wingbolts. I tried battle mode to *sneak* into the south chamber, but they obviously *see* me. What am I doing wrong? Or do I need to wait until I can take on the wingbolts? Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
You've been led astray: Rawal doesn't have a Gruesome Charm.
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
You're right. My mistake. It's an essence charm. I think.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
On the other hand, it is possible to sneak through. You can't get by those wingbolts, though, or at least I couldn't. Instead, try getting into his private quarters from the west. There's another wingbolt (and a unique one at that), but it's a standard stealth operation. —Alorael, who can promise you no Gruesome Charms. There are interesting papers, though. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Still Rawal's bedroom has lots of other nice gifts if you have enough mechanics to survive the traps. No need to fight if you are sneaky enough.
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
Thanks, Thuryl. My memory of what I read is subpar on this, it seems. So it's the west entry directly under Agent Alurha's quarters? I was in the wrong place. heh
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
I just launched a major stealth operation. I netted about 30 coins from a wingbolt's nest. I thought it was a suicide mission, but I was coming and he was going... passing each other by. I was great. I'm still counting my money. (What's wrong with this picture?) Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Rawal didn't make intelligent creations? Or creations slack off just like the rest of us when no one is watching.
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
That wing*nut* is a total slacker. Just like his boss. Everybody else is out in the trenches while Rawal lazes around in his fortress plotting his rise to power in the bloody aftermath of the war. Well, I sure can't figure out how anyone got the goodies in the south chamber without a big bloody fight. I think a couple of decoys could work if they could live long enough to lure the weird birds out while the PC pillages. I didn't have the manpower. So I did what any self-respecting mercenary would do. I went in guns a-blazing. Four bugs and a roamer bursting into the room. The lazy wingbolts just hung out on the wall, so they were easily cornered. My crew was hasted, too. It wasn't a pretty sight. I was astounded. At the end of the battle, one bug hung to life by a thread. The others were almost without a scratch! Wow. Still can't get the Unbound, though. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
To loot the final chamber you have to be careful, in fight mode go in an open a chest and take only one item, then leave to stand outside the door. Repeat with alternating closing a chest and you can easily get everything without the wingbolts reacting.
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
Okay, this would have been nice to know. Saying be "sneaky" didn't help me too much since I tried and, repeatedly, they *saw* me and I couldn't seem to make it work.
Tenderfoot Thahd brop52
What mechanics do you need to not explode opening the last chest?
