Burgeoning Battle Gamma JP
I see on Strategy Central post that there is a trainer in Exodus. Is it Solberg's man (forgot his name) who send you on a quest to study a golem? And if so, I guess he would only train you if you succeeded. Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
It is indeed Incantor Horazon, or Horamon, or whatever his name is. Hopefully you didn't kill the golem, although if you did, you could get everything except Resistance from Shanker, but only if you lied to Sgt. Cienna. Articulate Vlish Cher
Golem? Are you referring to the first quest Shanker gives to beat Toerag (ogre) into submission? Or is it something else that comes later? I just killed Toerag, so no big deal to go back and redo it. Oops, I think I found the answer by rereading the first post. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
For those that don't figure it out. There is a circle of stone pillars west of Exodus that you are quested to examine. One pillar is actually a golem.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
And is the southwest-ish pillar..pretty easy to survive it..

I killed the golem, so I won't get Resistance. Fortunately, I lied to Sgt. Cienna (as an Exile/Avernum old hand, I feel closer to the avernites ) so Shanker will help me. Unflappable Drayk Jeran Korak
Just a quick question on the side: If you do decide to join the Darkside, who hate non-humans, what happens to your non-human party members? As non-spoiler as possible please. J
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Nothing except the minor addition of dialog.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
If you have non-humans in your party, Ruth makes a point of telling you that Dorikas is not against other races unless they cause trouble.
Kyshakk Koan Vicheron
Even if you don't have non-humans, the Darkside Loyalists say that they have nothing against Sliths and Nephils as long as they follow the rule of the Empire. Which is..surprisingly..the death (maybe banishment..) of all non-humans..
