Curious Artila bret
When transitioning to another area (such as going up a ladder), the game seems to just stop for a few seconds before displaying the new area. It isn't horrible, but it is long enough where I wonder if I clicked correctly. Are other people seeing this?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It depends upon your computer as the game has to get the graphics information for the new area and draw it on the screen. It's worse on older slower computers. Go play Eschalon: Book 1 from Basilisk Games and see the "loading" graphic appear every time you change level or map section. It's really noticeable when you reload a game for a different map section than the previous one.
Chittering Clawbug Mav
It's a pretty seamless transition for me, but I'm running an Intel-based Mac. The specs of your machine (and how many open/active apps you have) may have something to do with the slow loads.
Curious Artila bret
I've an old PowerMac G5 2 GHz dual processor with 4GB RAM. Still, that should be more than enough power for something like this. I'll check the memory utilization, see if there is a memory hog. Garrulous Glaahk SevenMass
I have a G5 1.8 with 1GB ram, And I haven't noticed any problems.
Curious Artila bret
In thinking about it, the delay really isn't any worse than with NWN. It is just that you don't have a visual clue indicating that the transition is occurring. A splash screen for transitions would be nice. Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
I think that would spoil the seamless no-distinction-between-towns-and-outdoors vibe of the game.
Seasoned Roamer monolith94
I'm running a 700 mhz G4, and it runs fine, the only thing that can drag it down is if I run itunes at the same time. So I just listen to the radio.
