Articulate Vlish Shadow stormer
When you see a canister what happens to you
Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Canisters are only reason I can't play as shaper. When I see it I simply can't resist the need to use it.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
G1 is great because there's nothing bad about canister mania. So yeah, my current characters are canister FIENDS (G1 and G4) even though I generally play totally loyalist, and only take drayk canisters. Garrulous Glaahk The Crimson Coyote
Canisters in Geneforge is like any alcoholic drink in RL for me. I see it, then I want to use/drink it. If I can, I will...
Magnificent Ornk Student of Trinity
Canisters are of course one of the best things in Geneforge, because no RPGer can resist an instant stat boost or new ability. The swirly green look and that sound effect become Pavlovian after a while. What's great is that this mimics nicely the addictive effect that the canisters are supposed to be having on your character. It's a cool gimmick. Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
I managed when playing the G3 again to play as shaper.I tried to not use canisters but couldent resist using 2 of them to learn to create gazer and dracon.Strange nobody noticed nor my skin glow. Is it becouse I used only 2 canisters not a pile of them why nobody notices it and my skin doesen't glow?
Magnificent Ornk Student of Trinity
Yes, you can use a few canisters with no serious effects. That proves they're completely harmless.
Garrulous Glaahk The Crimson Coyote
I don't think that rewrites your DNA/Your matter is safe full stop! How ever, I think it is more beneficial over using Mind altering Drugs. I mean Hey, since when did Weed Allow some on to create an army of obedient mutant monsters? Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
You can use about 6 canisters before anything bad happens, which is nice to know if you're a loyalist but you want something you can't get from a trainer. Like drayks!

Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Sorry, I meant rotghroth canister in G3. I edited mistake.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Schrodinger\'s walkthrough says there is one in Maker’s End on Gull Island and another in Benerii-Eo Vat Core on the Isle of Spears. It also looks like Khyryk can train you in it as well. Dikiyoba.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
After you kill the gazer jailer of Agatha and co., you will find rooms with a rothghroth canister and battle roar canister. And (I think) some more rogues. If you want to ever cast battle roar, use that canister because it's the only spell you can't get from a trainer. Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Thanks, I got Khyryk to train me in shaping rotgroth and for the battle roar I am playing as a warrior so I'm not using spells at all.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
The canisters are almost the things that Geneforge revolves around.. Plus..I would go cold if I don't use a canister.. *Use canister*
Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
I used it when I joined rebells but now I'm loyal to shapers so using a lot of canisters is not an option.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
My new G4 character will try a lethal combo of loyalism (result: better training) and canister obsession. To avoid a bad ending, he will also be a Trakovite. Power-gaming, much? Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Canisters are so much better than training that always when I see a canister I regreat playing as loyalist. When I use a canister I gain a feel of power and when I get training I don't feel like my power is increast. So its more pyshological thing to me not about actual power. Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
Which makes the canister system perfect, because it's supposed to have a psychological effect. Just like SoT pointed out earlier.
Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Exept the side efects. But who cares when you get loads of power.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Fools. Self-Shaping grants power without sacrifice, which is analogous to a five-year old that shoots fireballs. It corrupts the mind and eliminates the capability for rational thought, if done sufficiently. It engenders arrogance, anger, and contempt, disgust, and the need to conquer towards those who have not partaken of it. It is an abomination. Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
You sound like you are really ma...changed by canisters. Sidefects are not such significant, if you don't use thousant of canisters and you don't need so much to become really powerfull.

Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
Or you can be like my Trakovite, and combine loyalism, or a pretense of it, with canister madness. No cheating, and almost just as good.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
*Sighs* If you aren't willing to debate the morals of Geneforge reasonably, Nalyd won't bother.

Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
But if you gett too much canisters you can't be a loyalist any longer.

Rotghroth Rhapsody Taliesin
That's why I'll go for the Trakovite ending.
Unflappable Drayk Xelgion
You don't like me because im more powerful *uses lots of canisters* if i see a canister in the game i will go for it, it does have a pycologicial effect on your person and you, which is cool. Canisters are like tobacco, you either get butt-ass lucky or you die.

Unflappable Drayk Xelgion
Yeah, also taking canisters make you look like a "specimen" to shapers. Remember the traitor rebel ending?
