Tenderfoot Thahd hobomaniac
Hi, I have just bought the game from Gamersgate, but I noticed that the version of the game is 1.0. http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-AEFP/avernum-escape-from-the-pit And no update is available on Gamersgate, neither here on this website. My question is : how do I upgrade to version 1.0.1 (I think it's the latest if I'm not mistaken)?
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Just download the latest version directly from Spiderweb's website and it should work fine; your saved games should also be preserved. If it tells you it's a demo version, email Spiderweb Software at spidweb@spiderwebsoftware.com and they'll set you up with a registration code to unlock it. Tenderfoot Thahd hobomaniac
I got my copy from Gamersgate. I don't have access to the Spiderweb site version. I can only download the demo version. So I suppose I'll have to write an email to get a registration code.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The version that you can download from Spiderweb site is called the Demo. Start up the game and the bottom right of the main screen will tell you if it has the registration from Gamersgate or whether you need to get a registration code. Tenderfoot Thahd hobomaniac
It doesn't work It seems Gamersgate doesn't give any serial, so I can't register the game
Tenderfoot Thahd hobomaniac
all right I found a way. Finally. But I suggest (politely) that the registration could be easier? And why the update hasn't been transferred to Gamersgate yet? And why isn't the game on GOG.com? Just a simple way to bring more customers and more money to the business. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
GOG tends to have the older Spiderweb games. Updates get sent out, but then it's up to the site to install the latest version on their servers. I've seen long delays at Steam because indie games don't have the sales numbers of other companies so they get shoved down to the bottom of their to do lists. springacres
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
But I suggest (politely) that the registration could be easier? it is quite easy already, if ordered via spidweb then registration code is sent to email used in order. if orders cd-versions then those are pre-registered and can be installed w/o need to enter reg. codes. years ago it was more difficult since you needed to send some serial given by game back to spidweb to get reg. code and that could take days before getting response. Burgeoning Battle Gamma Rya.Reisender
I can only agree with: There should be more and updated versions of Spiderweb games at Gamersgate.
