Articulate Vlish grumblycakes
I'm replaying the game but I totally forget... how does completing or not completing companion quests affect the game? Also, does it matter how I do those quests and what I say? For example, is there a difference between letting Cahil The Claw go free or killing him as far as Sevilin is concerned? Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
If you don't complete the quests at all, your companions won't rejoin you. If you don't complete them in a way that makes the companions happy, they won't support you if you choose to oppose Redbeard at the end. It's nearly impossible to defeat Redbeard alone, so this is pretty important.

Articulate Vlish grumblycakes
Follow up question - when is the last chance to complete these quests? I still haven't decided if I want to do Shima's quest and I'm already finishing up Hunting The Lord. I know I will be sent back to Kellemderial to do something and endgame will probably start after that... at what point is it too late? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It's too late once you start the 3rd Castle Vebeaux quest by going past the point where there is a warning.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
You should really tackle the quests sooner rather than later. You don't have to side with your party member, but it's worth seeing what's going on. —Alorael, who was sniped by Randomizer. But he'll note that the warning is pretty explicit about your reaching the point of no return.
Articulate Vlish grumblycakes
Thanks I always find myself postponing tricky morality quests, it's an annoying habit of mine. I probably won't side with Shima on this one.
Garrulous Glaahk JamesMighty
If you play on defeating Redbeard, you probably should, unless you're after the challenge.
Garrulous Glaahk Painted Lady
If you play on defeating Redbeard, you probably should, unless you're after the challenge. Defeating Redbeard is enough of a challenge even with all of your buddies helping.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
if wants real challenge then should do it as solo or duo.
Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
if wants real challenge then should do it as solo or duo. That's too insane, even for spiderwebbers.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I tried a solo against Redbeard on torment difficulty. It was terrifying.

Articulate Vlish grumblycakes
How tough is Redbeard compared to Beloch and Zephyrine? Beloch was no trouble at all for me and with Zephyrine I had to cheat by luring her away from the guardians and spamming shards of the phoenix to quickly finish her off with strong ablities. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Redbeard makes them look like a cakewalk.
Articulate Vlish grumblycakes
lol! Well, I'll give it a shot for completion's sake.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Nah, Redbeard definitely isn't harder than Zephyrine, just more tedious. Under normal circumstances Redbeard is harder than Beloch, but easier than Zephyrine: Zephyrine can output more total damage thanks to her golems, and you only get to bring 3 characters against her instead of all 5. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Redbeard has mental attacks that the other two fights lack. That requires more characters that can cure mental effects. Zephyrine if you are careful never has more than 2 golems joining her attacks. Concentrate on the golems and they aren't replaces like Redbeard's soul jars. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
The mental attacks aren't a big deal if you have a ranged team: the room is big enough that you can spread everyone out so he can't hit more than one character at a time, and losing one character for a round isn't so bad when you have five of them. Garrulous Glaahk Questionably Legal
Redbeard is hard, in the sense that you definitely want your whole team there to fight him.
