Fledgling Fyora DarkSnake
I was Wondering if the two trilogies for this game are continuations of the same storyline or separate events in the same world?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Events in the earlier games are mentioned and influence later games. They are separate events and you don't need to know what happens in the past to play a later game. Also with each remake new places are added and minor changes to the stories take place. Avernum 1 adds Bahssikava to explain where the Sliths come from and Avernum: Escape from the Pit adds the Freehold of Kyass as a new power in the game. Major NPCs carry over from game to game. Arch-mage Solberg is in all 6 games, X is in 5 games and mentioned in another in a letter, and a few others. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door and all inconsistencies will be resolved or at least you won't notice them.
Fledgling Fyora DarkSnake
Sounds good. I look forward to checking them out.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Kreador
I recalled the Freehold in A6. Having come to Spiderweb games with that game, I didn't realize when we get to it in A:EftP that it hadn't been there in A1.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
It's also worth pointing out that the trilogies are grouped by engine. The trilogies aren't continuations of one story either, and there's no greater jump from A3 to A4 than from A1 to A2 or A5 to A6. Each is completely playable as a standalone game, although you do get more of the references and backstory if you play them in order. —Alorael, who supposes the answer is that the trilogies, and indeed all the games, are sequential events in the same world, but many of the events happen because of previous events. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
A2 is direct sequel to A1 and what happened at A2 leads to A3 and A3 leads to A4, A5 doesn't have much ties to A4 but A6 is quite direct sequel to A5.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
A5 is tied to the Darkside Loyalists, who are the secondary villains of A4, and the events of A3. —Alorael, who still think they're one arc of history but six separate stories. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
oh yea mixed bit A5 and A6, A6 doesn't have big ties to A5 except Darkside Loyalists although those are sidequest.
