NPC vs. PC advantages and disadvantages

In the Exile games, both PCs and NPCs have advantages over each other.

 

For example, consider the following in Exile 3:

 

NPC advantages: immunities, more than 250 HP and 150 SP, super damage (pack leaders can hit over 80, which cannot be done by PCs without assassination), more default AP, more powerful ranged

 

PC advantages: luck, invincibility, ability to summon more powerful monsters (via Simulacrum), assassination, and of course, the Editor.

 

Just curious, if you could have any advantage that NPCs have, which would it be? Similarly, if you had to sacrifice a PC advantage, which would it be?

 

For me, I'd want the > 250 HP and > 150 SP, and sacrifice Simulacrum.

Since I never use the character editor anyway, I'd gladly give it up in exchange for higher base AP. Heck, if it meant having 8 AP on each party member like Dervishes have, I'd even give up the ability to reload saved games after my party members died.

I'd give up Simulacrum for free. In fact, I did.

I love simulacrum! Thankfully you don't need a soul crystal for it in BoE (cause spec. items gets wiped )I'd give up the editor if my chars had a "skill" number that effects their to hit as well as dodge.

What is the maximum health possible with the BoE engine?

32767. There have been reports that if any monster is healed to above 32767 HP (which is pretty hard to do, even in BoE), the game will crash.

I would be an NPC, definately.

 

Though the ability of Simulacrum to summon a monster just as powerful as you would pose a difficulty. (Assuming we're maxing out both NPC's and PC's).

 

NPC's outpower PC's by far, especially because of their special abilities.

And if you funk up your game just right, the Vahnatai Warriors in the Final Gates (I think that's what the kids call it these days... Those three sets of walls filled with Vahnatai?) will actually gain health when they take damage, leading to quite trippy health levels.

On another note, I *think* I used a memory editor to give one of my characters over 7,000 SP or something a long time ago, but I have not been able to do the same with this computer,

32767? 15-bit? Why not 16 then?

 

Even though, that's a lot of Death Arrows.

32767 is a signed 15-bit, meaning it should also go down to -32768. That's where the other bit went.
