Stopping mad dragons and wizards from taking over the underworld. Keeping Mertis a good tradepost. Having avernum taking back northen avernum, ect. You know, because there aren't any Vahnatai to cause problems at that point. In endings where I let them live, it said there was at least some tension, I believe. As for your original question, to get the best pro-Avernum ending, I'd recommend killing everything. Really. If you have the option to kill it, do so. The Kingdom of Avernum can only benefit, as everything is apparently out to get it. Don't get your hopes up too high, though, even in it's best ending, the human Avernum Kingdom will still never fully recover to it's former glory, so it seems.
