Kyshakk Koan Firecage
I wish to know if it truly is worth it to help this dragon. If he is the most worthwhile for Avernum. I have seen some people say I should rather go with Gladwell, so now I don't know.
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
There's a thread around here somewhere with a bunch of the ending texts, if you want to know how things turn out. My personal feeling is that Gladwell is evil, and so are his quests. The dragon doesn't bother me, as long as people have the freedom to join him or not. So I did the two of his quests that most lined up with the interests of Avernum: the Scourge, and the Darkside Loyalists. Apparently if you do more than two, he will take over unless you kill him. Some people do them all and then bump him off, which is also an option with Gladwell, of course. The rewards are nice, too, but by no means necessary to complete the game. Rotghroth Rhapsody waterplant
I agree with TTM - Gladwell is a bad dude. His extreme libertarian vision for the future of Avernum isn't one I would support. I'm all for individual freedoms but in an unstable and immature society some regulation is necessary to protect those who can't protect themselves. My first playthrough I supported neither Gladwell nor Melanchion and the outcome was favourable in my view. Second time around I am trying something different but am so far uncomfortable with what I am doing for Gladwell.
Kyshakk Koan Firecage
Mmm....I think I might do two of the Melanchions quests and then kill him....I wonder what that would do.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Be sure to save before attacking Melanchion in case you want to see other endings. Also you have to remember to claim the reward for Avernum from Melanchion for doing 2 quests otherwise you will get to see another ending. Kyshakk Koan Firecage
Kinda wierd thing just happend. I just went into combat mode and attacked Melanchion directly. When he went hostile, his followers started to attack him aswell...and he kills them all.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The AI differentiates between going into combat mode to attack and if you move into the room and start the fight with the dialog mode. I wished there had been a dialog option similar to the one in A5 with the undead in the Azure Gallery where you can express an opinion.
