My first post here first things first I just wanna say I just LOVE the Avernum games, their awsome bit long but that's what makes it even greater! I can spend hours at a time playing. There is something that have made me a bit sad about the series tho... From Avernum 4 and up the graphic have improved wich normaly is a good thing but too be honest I liked the games how they were in Avernum 1, 2 and 3 the simplicity made it fun I've just started Avernum 4 and I did not like the new graphics that much plus the fact that you removed the enemy and allies alphabetic letters so you cant for example with the mage press M A A to attack the closest target (That will mean Spellbook - Fireball - Closest target) and that you now need a certain ammount of action points to actualy cast a spell is also a bit annoying I used to move around alot till I had one point left and then cast my spells seeing as I played most of the time a 3 mage 1 priest team or 1 priest 2 mages and 1 warrior team thus I need to move around alot in order to stay alive now you cant do that and still be able to attack now it's either just keep runing as the enemy chases you or stand and take a lot of beating while trying to kill them and probobly die your self. And now to a diffrent topic, like I stated above I loved the older graphics of Avernum 1 2 and 3. Do anyone know more games with that kind of graphic? Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 The action point issue is fixed as of Avernum 5: you can cast spells with 1 AP left again.
