Garrulous Glaahk Namine
I've heard Battle Shaping is broken so i was wondering, are the battle alphas any good? or should i just stick with plated clawbugs till i hit rotgroths.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Battle Shaping is not broken, but in G1-G4 it was largely terrible. In G5 there's a good case to be made for it being the strongest. Battle alpha aren't fantastic. They're solid melee combatants, but I'd stick with faster but slightly weaker bugs until you can start using rotghroths, which are much, much better. —Alorael, who will rephrase his analysis. If you don't like thahds, you won't find much to like about battle alphas.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
i find battle alphas very useful. Battle shaping broken? On the contrary...everything else is broken. Battle alphas are good solid melee creations. Especialy if you make 2 or 3.
Garrulous Glaahk Namine
Ok then, i'll try to make a rotgroth when i can, does anyone know how i can make a rozhidon without using a canister?
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Not possible.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
It's worth using a canister to be able to create rotdhizons, though (unless you're playing a very strict no-canister run as a challenge). They're a bit expensive, but they're good. Dikiyoba still doesn't like regular rotghroths much. They get soft and squishy too soon.

Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
I'll second that. My melee-focused Shaper rushed the beginning and made 2 clawbugs to start. Another was added later, followed by 2 plated bugs. I absorbed the clawbugs and maybe plated bugs to make some alphas, but immediately went back to my pre-absorption save. I'm not sure how betas stack up if you can get them early, but leveled bugs beat fresh green alphas.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
Well, i got my alphas really early and then got them nicely leveled and keped them until i got to the storm plains and made a nice cortett of Kyshaaks. Garrulous Glaahk Namine
The thing is my plated clawbugs always die, and my battle shaping is at 10.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
a new bug vs. a new alpha...the ahlpha wins.
Garrulous Glaahk Namine
oh alpha dies too xD, my party is 3 of the plated, and 3 alpha, and 1 normal bug.
Garrulous Glaahk Tarson
Why so many? I go for 1 or 2 creations with some better skills over having 7 with about 0 upgrades.

Most creations don't gain very much for each attribute point. Would you rather have one creation doing 150 damage or 2 creations doing 100 damage a piece? Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
It has been agreed that quantity is more desireable...but it also decreases the amount of experience you get by 2 or 3 xp points per creation per kill. Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
And it has also been agreed that the extra killing power more than makes up for the decrease in exp. Overall, I would recommend, with battle creations, at least, keeping your starting bugs and plated bugs with you until you can get rots. Alphas aren't all that much stronger than bugs when you consider how much the bugs have leveled. Not to mention, alphas just do physical damage, like thahds. Bugs poison, plated bugs hit twice, rots poison or acid or whatever, and tralls just rock!
Kyshakk Koan Velzan
i think battle alphas are great meatshields
