Tenderfoot Thahd SupertoneD
Is there any way out of this predicament? I came across a camp of refugees north of Mera, and their whining caused me to black out, and when I came to, they were all dead! But now, the Mera guard seems to think I am some sort of evil homicidal maniac, and attacks me on sight. Can I ever make peace with them again? I do not have an old save point to go back to! Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Did you forget about the Autosave? Try this cheat: pleaselikeme You'll have to come back to the area for it to work (Check Autosave before this though) The Last Archon
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
You are in the zone with the servile bandit, right? Are the guards also in the same zone? If so, it's probably just those guards that are hostile to you and you should be able to enter the city just fine. The guards there don't help you too much anyway, so you can just kill them. If not, Dikiyoba will need more explanation.
Garrulous Glaahk Cthulhu
Is it even possible to save those refugees? I've NEVER been able to, they always somehow die, even when I left a level 50 Gazer there with them. Methinks its programmed for them to die. Well-Actually War Trall Acky
You just need to bottleneck the incoming creations with your own creations, if you're playing a creation type. Magic heavy? Daze them and focus on the bandit. If you're playing a warrior/guardian, then slip in the path and kill the rogues one group at a time, and then deal with the bandit. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
If you leave combat mode while a hostile creation is anywhere near them, they'll die in seconds. It is possible to save them, and you get bonus experience for doing so.
Garrulous Glaahk Untamed Banana Slug
At that point in the game, I'm usually too weak to take on Koski and his eight (?) brutal thahds by myself, so I lure them back to the refugees for some assistance. Works like a charm, and I rarely lose any refugees.

Magnificent Ornk nikki.
I find it annoying that when they're all dead the quest doesn't go away.
Seasoned Roamer Nightowl2
Got leadership 6 or better? Pay Koski. Then get soldiers at the gate to fight him. Never needed to do so myself. Always saved refugees, too. Daze. Gotta love it. - Nightowl2
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
If you are a servile, you can get by for free.
