  1. Mainly my concern was that being unable to finish this quest would hinder me from getting new quests from the Obeyers. Since this is the first time I play the game, I do not have the knowledge of what quests to expect either, like many on this forum have. Since I got the quest of destroying the geneforge, I guess everything is ok.
  2. I've spoken with Rydell, and all enemies are killed in that area, but the quest seems to be bugged since I fed the darn thing too early At least I got the quest for destroying the geneforge. Perhaps I'm too much of a completist since I let unfinished quests like this irk me.
  3. (Post contains minor spoilers) I'm sure I saw this problem mentioned somewhere on these fora, but I cannot for the life of me find it again. I joined the Obeyers, and got the quest "Feed Control Four", but I had already fed him earlier. It seems like we are allied none the less, but the quest is still in the log. I tried to speak with Control Four again, before returning to Rydell, but I cannot finish the quest. As far as I know there might be no problem by not finishing this quest, but I guess there is a chance that I will not receive new ones now. Has anyone of you experienced this before? Is it a problem (missing new quests) or can I just try to forget about it?

However, some of that energy started "condensing" into something that later became mass. Even though we have a theory of this happening, we have no explanation why this happened, or how it could happen. Scientist have a hope that a deep understanding of this particle (if this proves to actually be the particle they hope it is) will help to understand how this energy could condense. In other words, help us one step further along the way to understand how atoms and the things inside the universe came into being.
  6. The greatest achievement in science so far in my lifetime. I watched the webcast directly today, and it was surely something to remember=) This kind of intensity of applause is not something you see very often in a physics presentation And of course it was memorable to see a moved Higgs.
  7. In the languages having their roots in old Germanic, ur means "very old" or "what came first". So if Jeff ment the Germanic meaning of the prefix it matches the general fantasy-ish rules of the oldest dragons being the strongest. I don't know if that makes sense in this setting, or with drakes/drakons.
  8. Still on G1, and though I don't cherish the thought of having the same slightly outdated interface in G2, I still look forward to playing it, if the story in G1 is anything to go by And I'll test the "t"-functionality. Never heard of it before.
  9. I'm still loitering through Geneforge, nowhere near done, but I really got my ass kicked yesterday. (I'll try not to spoil too much) First I used ages to get into the Refugee Caves, and then met my match on the way to the nearby docks. I'm one of those that gleefully runs back to town to rest as often as I need it, but the pummeling I received was so far the most severe. I have experienced jump in difficulty when I explore areas not linked together by a quest, where one is quite a few levels higher than the adjacent area. The way to the docks however, were a tad cruel in the way the difficulty increased so sudden. Now I'm weeping my way around on the map to gain a level or two before trying again So anyway, I understand the frustration of players that haven't cracked the code, or that really do not wish to reduce the game difficulty down to casual. (I've not cracked any codes, I'm merely one them 'I'm puny so I play on casual difficulty'-players.)
  10. What happened with this? Did you post something new I overlooked? =)

I can't remember off the top of my head whether or not this has happened with other game series.
  12. I'm a bit of a Spiderweb Software noob, with Geneforge being the only game I've played so far (about 20 hours or thereabout), so I have no experience from the the newer games and what they do better. However, the thing that is bothering me the most is the sound. I love that there is no music in the game, and that you only hear birds and the wind, or children playing. If the sound had been of better quality, i.e. cleaner sound (when the sound pressure does not exceed the quality of the microphone) and perhaps a tad more varied (there is a lot of chewing going on in the towns at times), the atmosphere would be even better. The other thing I would love in the game would be junk bag I've heard so much about. And of course I agree with the obvious graphics update, at least when i compare to screenshots from the newer games. I haven't really played Geneforge, or other Spiderweb Software games, enough to have developed more preferences so far.
  13. Since I tested half an hour of the Geneforge demo a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the style of these games. However, I feel guilty for discovering these games during a ridiculous amount of sales during the last 2 weeks. The entire Geneforge series, the second Avernum trilogy and yesterday Avadon. Everything bought at very (VERY) nice prices. I payed more for Tropico 4, than all the beforementioned Spiderweb games together. When I've worked my way through all the Geneforges, I promise to buy the remaining games (Avernum: Escape from the Pit and Nethergate: Resurrection) at full price, not waiting for sales of any kind. I want this small studio to stay alive until I grow tired of having fun.
  14. I've just recently fallen in love with Spiderweb's games, after trying the Geneforge demo roughly 30 minutes. Ended up buying the entire series. I'm going to follow your Let's Play along with my progress Tough I'm usually ridiculously slow with such games...
  15. I have the Steam version as well. The mouse lags during the text filled intro pages, but elsewhere everything is smooth. Using Windows 7 64 bit.
