I have been to Khoth's lair and supposedly learned how to translate Lark's (from Ft. Monastery) scrolls. When I go to talk to her, I tell her I can translate them, but then nothing happens and the quest is still in my book. What am I missing?

I have cleared out Fort Saffron and am ready to head into the final phase of the journey by going into the Abyss. I keep reading about how useful the arcane shield and another arcane something spells are, but I am not able to access them and I don't know why. They show up on the spell list grayed out. And where is the basalt fortress I see referenced in the walkthrough?

Yes, I've seen that link and have tried, tried, tried to do it that way. I can't seem to keep one mage or priest out of harms way, then when blue guy starts summoning, then my melee fighters start slowly biting the dust. Sigh. . .

I appreciate the help and the encouragement. I have gone on to the castle to try and build up some more experience. I'm still not sure the game can be finished, because I don't have steelskin yet either and have skipped fighting the vahnati dude cause I just die every time. :-)

Sorry. . . I didn't realize this problem arises in several games! lol I'm in A4, in the Tower colony, where the quest is to purge the tower of a demon. I haven't been able to figure out a way to rush him and attack him first. . . My priest does have unshackle mind, but he's often the very first to be terrorized, then there's no way for him to unshackle himself. The characters are all level 20. Thanks for trying to help!

I am playing on the easiest mode and cannot defeat the blue guy in the purge the tower quest. I read the spoiler and it does me no good at all. Problem 1: I have tried rushing in and attacking him straightaway, but clicking the battle button tells me I can't have combat with someone I'm talking to, so I can't get first hit. Problem 2: One of the guys always dies or is terrorized immediately, usually either the priest or mage. Problem 3: No shields or spells have any protection at all on my guys. I welcome any and all hints.

Where do you get boxes or containers for your stuff?

I have talked to Giscard, but he won't talk to me. Forum posts say that I need a quest from someone else before talking to him. Where do I get this quest? I'm having no success at all defeating Hrickis or the young drake or the toughest monsters in the mines, so I'm looking for something else to do, hoping I'll get stronger. I'm quite frustrated, actually. . .

I'm not too far in Avernum 4, but have made it to Fort Draco. Along the way, I acquired a razordisc for my cat-type melee fighter and a nice bow for my human warrior. I played along for an hour or so, then realized that both those weapons simply went missing. I tried to retrace steps to see if I had inadvertently dropped them, but never found them. Any idea what happened?

I have cleared out the ogres in Jhereth Deeps, and came across the missing scouts at the end of the fighting. I assumed they'd return to the aerie, but when I went back there, Watcher Harissa still tells me to find them. So I went back and they're no longer there. Have I messed up that quest completely?

I've been all through the deep Beraza Woods, gotten the quest from Gavin and am trying to find the hidden way back into the castle. The map shows the Wayfarer in the northeast, and also shows a rusty shield, as if these are significant. I haven't seen the Wayfarer in a while. I'm avoiding the elite warriors because of getting slaughtered more than once. What am I missing?
