Seasons of Destiny

So, here I am, casually strutting along deep within the Giants' Vale, murderlizing everything in sight with my shiny not-so-new Sword of Sharpness, when I come across a dead giant's corpse in the northeast corner of the vale. My adventurer senses kicked in, and I looted the poor guy. Turns out he wasn't poor, and had a bag with 365 coins on him, which I promptly grabbed. I tried to go deeper into the thicket of trees to look for more potential treasure, but failed. On my way out of the thicket, I stumble upon the same dead giant. So, the strangest thing happened. Instead of just leaving the now penniless dead giant alone, I instead went through the whole process of searching him again, and came up with another bag of 365 coins... Eventually, the message window was filled with "You have found 365 coins." Was this intentional, or did Smoo forget to add a SDF at the end of that encounter?

Nice to see someone else reading the same series I am! Anywho, I finished reading A Memory of Light, and I have to say that it became quite the tear jerker near the end. Sadly, the series is over now... Might have to reread the series soon. Also, in unrelated news, I can't seem to use the enter key to start new paragraphs on the forums with my main computer... Strange.

I assure you that it's well worth the effort of playing the user-created scenarios. It's both a break in the tedium that is playing the same scenarios every single time, and that there are several diamonds in the rough, so to speak.

Over halfway finished with A Memory of Light, and for the "final showdown" book in the series, I'm a little surprised that a little humor is still present here and there, like when a certain protagonist and another certain protagonist have a bragging match, or how a certain protagonist remarks on how a certain guardian and a certain captain of a certain group of guards could go at a staring contest for days straight. Oh yes, and surprise plot twist!

As do I. I can imagine that someone's soul would be at least a little peeved for having been eternally trapped within a crystal.

From what I can remember of Nathaganth's Castle when I last played Exodus is that it's pretty much impossible to kill Nathaganth. After a few of his instant-death blasts, I even filled the room with Arcane Summon summons in an attempt to draw away said blasts, although I can't remember if I dealt any damage. I only remember getting sniped by a instant-death blast in the middle of the summoned crowd after a few turns. I think there was also a little "you-really-shouldn't-go-in-here-and-fight-this-guy" special encounter before entering his throne room, hinting that the fight may be a bad idea.

Just got A Memory of Light a few days ago. I can't wait to see how the series ends.

Ehh, I dunno about that... My parents probably would refuse if I ask them if I could pay someone I met via the forums postage for a copy of a book. I appreciate the offer, though.

Can't tell if this is going to be off-topic or not, as it is technically alcohol, but I also now just noticed that oosquai tag. How could I resist mentioning it? I'm reading the series that it originated from, after all.

Finished Towers of Midnight a few days ago. Twas a pretty good read, and finally Mat got around to visiting that... place. Sadly, I have to put the series on hold for a while, since someone beat me to the last copy of A Memory of Light at the library. I would start rereading Terry Goodkind's series, the Sword of Truth series, but I don't want to end up forgetting anything that went on in Towers of Midnight.

Just finished reading The Gathering Storm, and not only was it a good read, but it also had a nice ending, which hasn't been seen too often in the previous few books.

Yeah, I was expecting the library to take the book back and repair it, too, but I guess it was a lost cause in their eyes. I was kind of surprised it got that bad, since I also like to take care of books I check out. The only reason I can think of that weakened the binding that much would be accidentally leaving the book in a car all night in chilly temperatures (and accidentally dropping it on an angle on the bus sure didn't help).

Would it be possible to broach the breech of such a decorated brooch? The last time I checked, jewellry tends to lack a backside.

Well, I'm kind of surprised that A Memory of Light was long enough that it had to be split into three separate books. Apparently it would have been "prohibitively" long. Pertaining to the subject, I've gotten a bit into The Gathering Storm, and it's been a little difficult trying to distinguish Jordan's writing style from Brandon's. Still a good book so far. On a side note, it turns out I had to keep Knife of Dreams and pay for it since the binding was damaged... I really shouldn't be too surprised, since a section of the book was actually able to fall out, but it was already broken to begin with.

Even though I have yet to see a favorite natural environment violated in such a way, I still say that preserving the enviornment is the way to go, even though not doing so has a few benefits, albeit double-edged. I would love to try to switch out the van with my bike at times, but that presents difficulties, such as living by a highway, the sheer weight of books I have to carry to and from school, and, of course, the weather. One thing I don't understand is why all the environmentally-friendly ways to do things are either expensive or challenging... If it's beneficial to all of us, why make it so hard to do so?

It seems the former a-salter and batterer was released on parole, because I noticed that he now works at that same supermarket where all of this began. He has quite the electric personality now. It was almost a jolt to see the transformation from his former self to now. Sadly, it seems that his experiences won't be forgotten any time soon, as he can transition from positive to negative, and back again quicker than the flick of a switch.

Well, darn. I guess my memory is a little foggy... Anyways, I've also recently finished the Knife of Dreams. This time stuff actually happened, such as . Hopefully I can get the next book before exams start.

In response to Tyranicus (can't use quote because I can't get it to work), I think I liked it because it's the book where Why would that be considered nothing? (But I did hear that the book wasn't so great... Even the librarian said it wasn't that active of a book).

I might as well dust off this topic a bit, considering I forgot to update my status in the Wheel of Time series... So, yeah. I finished Crossroads of Twilight a month or so ago. Twas a pretty interesting book. I have started to see a little trend going on in the series. The farther I've gotten into it, the more and more modern devices (or close to) are being invented/used. I've also heard that the series has now been finished (sadly, Robert died, and a new author had to finish it for him). Can't wait to see how it ends.

Darn, I came up with an answer after getting off. "A man walked out of the supermarket, and on the way to his car he got mugged by a person using canisters of salt and packages of batteries as weapons. The mugger was caught, tried in court, and was convicted of assault and battery." Plus, hard-boiling a battery egg would kill all the time fly eggs, resulting in a hard-boiled egg with a strangely-textured center.
