  3. You can get Wingbolts as early as Shaper Camp Gamma, so make sure to help the shapers at least somewhat (def get the Repair Moseh quest, you don't need to actually help him). Cryoas & Vlish are fine till then, certainly on normal.
  4. Dex also has some impact on initiative. Mind, it is seldom a good idea to actually put points into a creations stats with the exception of 2 Int. It's just too expensive.
  5. You will be perpetually disappointed if you seriously expect to get this. There is never any urgency in G4, most of the time you are off doing who knows what unconnected to the main plot, you can even make it to Northforge and then go off killing Monarchs Titan without anyone batting an eye. Nevermind that you are the only one actually doing anything, not even the fabled infiltrators really act, they just sit around. G1/2 had a single (good looking) world map with all areas on it. Going to a split map with dungeon areas not even on it is a major decline. Feels the opposite for me. G1/2 are are dusty, grey while G3 is colorful and bright. And calling both sides unappealing ? Nah, the rebels are just vastly worse, that one area you hinted at on the last island doesn't change that.

  9. You don't get HPs at 11/13/15 etc. Endurance in G1. Tired sorry. Yeah that's obviously how I tested it, various attacks vs. high level enemies. Get hit for parry, shaping skills are simple obv. END and INT see the HP/SP/EP and resists. Those I haven't done yet: QA simply find smth fast and mess with QA+luck+dex , Mental should be easy to test, enough spells that have a to-hit, blessing prob duration ?, healing I have no idea, mech and leadership should be irrelevant, luck to hit i think ? Where exactly does INT contribute to damage tho ? It doesn't for spells, those are spell+school+spellcraft right ? Neither for creations (strength). Crystals/wands I thought were missiles ?
  10. It does affect HP calcs in G1 tho (unless I'm misunderstanding you). I'm really not sure how we could test the effect of those specific points of STR/INT/DEX on damage formulas with the very high amount of variance involved. My bad. Of course it affects shaping in G1 too. I'll edit it.

  12. G2 shaper start, made fyora, it has 65% to hit the first rat on torment. Add 1 Strength and it has 70%. Add 1 Dexterity instead and it is still 65% to hit. This is with its firebolt attack.
  13. Doesn't work that way. You need strength for creations to hit and do more damage, yes even for ranged/spell like attacks.
  14. All skills in G1 use the 10-cap except Int. In G2-4 It only exists for the shaping skills. Tested and not affected by the 10-cap in G2 are Str, Dex, Int, End, Melee, Missile,Parry, Battle Magic. Some of the others are a bit hard to test so I'll leave it at that for now.
  15. Empty container bug means that at some point all containers (boxes/chests etc.) become empty. Afaik nobody knows why it happens, it can happen even in newer games (AEftP) and usually your autosave will become useless. While it is rare it is devastating if it happens and with no clear cause going the safe route and keeping only the needed stuff in your pile of loot seems reasonable.
  16. There is also the dreaded empty container bug whose source is still unknown I think ? That's another reason not to pile of loot too much just in case there is a connection.
  17. If you are unaligned/loyalist the mage in Drypeak Warrens has a bunch of tools to sell. Apart from that there are way more of them overall in game than you should ever need assuming you have decent mech. I had 90 tools at the end of my last run with only 9 skillpoints put into mech. And just a warning, don't get too extreme with the item dumping, afaik that can lead to problems.
  18. There is no need to go even close to the gazer area, you want the door in the SW. There is a lever in there that opens the door a bit north. Clawbug valley is to the SW from Freegate.
  19. The Gazer in Infected Crossroads is not blocking the way, you can get through just fine with him alive, the area just won't turn green. Exp Valley is simply combat mode + speed + mech. If you can't do that go the clawbug valley route, that's the combat way to the barzites.
  20. Where did you get this idea from ? No, G3-5 knowledge doesn't matter here. At this point in time the council is notoriously slow to act, nevermind that we have an example of a full shaper gone missing and nothing happened (Sharon). Zak and Barzahl managed to abscond with lots of knowledge and serviles from Sucia and years later the council doesn't even know. At best they'll send another agent at some point to investigate. You really need to try to forget the later games while playing G2. That knowledge only hinders you.

  23. lvl 2 shaper with 2 dex vs. drypeak warrens artilas needed to go first +2 QA or +3 Dex or +6 luck or lvl 8 Doesn't seem like luck is that strong.
