  1. The two-way wrist tv was actually produced, but it was too expensive, and not found to be as workable as it was in the comic strip. The size of the watch was just too bulky, and not something that people wanted to wear around. Also, battery life was bad.

  3. I had a neighbor who had a flat top. Dick Tracey was looking for him.
  4. You will need a special dagger called an athame. It comes later in the game after you get to a certain tower and come back to Avadon to report. Look for new dialogue with the head librarian.
  5. meh... politics... I'm leaving now. Have fun.
  6. "However, you would have thought that I would have guessed that you would have known that I knew the powder's origin, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you!"
  7. If you failed to succeed at failing then you succeeded at failing to fail?
  8. I like cold coffee. It comes from my days as a waiter when I would not have time to drink a cup of coffee, so I put it in a big glass with ice and slammed it all at once then buzzed back out to work.

  11. Actually, it is quite possible to make an untrue statement without lying. To lie requires intent to deceive. For example, if you ask a man how much he weighs, and he weighed himself on an inaccurate scale this morning, he tells you what he believes to be the truth, but he is incorrect. He is not lying, just misinformed. If, however, he understates his weight by 10 pounds from what the scale told him, he is lying, even if what he says is the truth, because the scale was heavy by 10 pounds. A true conundrum is the following statement. This statement is false.
  12. I am lying to you right now.

Yes, I can understand that, even though I don't agree. If this were an easy thing, we would certainly have fixed it by now. There is a lot of talk these days about how bad "They" are, with "They" being Democrats, Republicans, Tea Partiers, Socialists, Fill-In-The-Blank. I think that, as a society, the United States is more fractured now than it has been in a long, long time. I hear people saying that So-and-So hates America, or wants to destroy America. I truly believe that this is not the case. We just have different ideas about what America is, and should be. For example, I think Michael Moore loves America. His America just isn't the same as mine. Until we can learn to actually work together, things are just going to get more broken. If working together means paying higher taxes, I will do it. If working together means giving up something that you think should be given to everyone by the government, will you?
  14. Would you rather have a roving eye or a roving hand?
  15. He also laughs when he tells the truth. Now if he had said he ONLY laughs when he lies, we would have a conundrum.
  16. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ng I Ng. OK, I've calmed down now. Thanks, Karoka.
  17. I'd rather it be 10% of everything for everybody, but That wiould cause a lot of people to scream about unfairly burdening the poor. Of course, it doesn't matter how good of a new idea we come up with anyway. The feds are not going to let a little thing like the people change their ways.
  18. It is also the same ranking for the body. While a Hand can act without Eyes, It is not generally thought to be as effective or efficient. An Eye can still see and do it's job just fine without a Hand. If there is no functioning Heart, the hands and eyes die.
  19. Mine is actually one tax bracket 10% for every dollar earned over the poverty level. It is a fair tax, because those who make more, pay more. It would be unfair to tax a person a higher percentage because they make more money. The "He can afford to pay more" argument is not one that I hold to at all. It sounds too much like "To each according to his needs; from each according to his ability," which may be a noble thought but unworkable when it comes to human beings.

  21. What you want to use will depend on how many people you are tracking for. There are a lot of choices.
  22. What would work well is No Tax on the first $25,000 you make in the year (An adjustment for larger families would not hurt my feelings. Maybe $10,000 per person on the return instead of a flat $25,000.), then 10% of all the rest as a tax. Period. The end. No deductions for interest paid on your mortgage, no deductions for anything. Do your taxes in 10 minutes. The longest part would be writing down the social security numbers of the people on the return. This would raise a lot more money, and would put a fair burden on people who make a lot of money while meeping a low burden on the poor.
