  1. I've listed most crafting mats, including those for enhancements, in the walkthrough. Search for the earliest steel spines here .
  2. vempele I hadn't been looking for a cheat, but I just now glanced at your code, and I love it. Basically it gives Astoria special Trakovite love...
  3. Wander in the center until you discover a "roaming servile." Hide nearby, and follow at a distance clockwise while he makes his circuit of the area. When he returns to where he spawned, he'll reveal the secret pathway leading towards the southwest.
  4. Oh, nice Dahak, thanks for doing this!
  5. Um, uber? Maybe you might want to explore the game fully first, and beat it, before you back yourself into another under-levelled-at-the-endgame corner? Just sayin'.
  6. The northwest room of the southern building contains *crystalline fibers* in a blue chest.
  7. Quote: Can someone post a location for the lifecrafter girdle, smoking gauntlets, and things like that? Tex you need to craft those things out of the elements listed on the first page of this topic. So for the lifecrafter girdle you need to get some unmelting ice (from lerman's pass) and add it to a perfected belt using one of the blessed anvils. To make a perfected belt, you need a shaped belt and purifying elixir, mixed on a blessed anvil. To get purifying elixir, you need to mix mandrake tincture and demon's bile -- you guessed it -- on an enchanted anvil.
  8. Quote: You should have at least one war trall, but thats all I can advise. Bah, I think the battle creations really are much better in G5 than in previous versions, but I started the game not knowing that, and my first run was with a perfectly lovely agent who only had fire creations. I think the best advice is that you need what you're good at: if you're good at battle creations or fire creations, then that's what you want; if you're good at battle magic, then keep everything covered in acid and lightning; if you're good at mental magic, get everything to fight each other. In a word: focus.
  9. Uber you never said if you'd gone back to do areas you'd missed, or if you thought you'd done them all? I don't think it's the case that you can't beat the game. I wonder, though, if you might have more fun starting again with a new character, and going through all the regions? I can't imagine that beating your head against the same battle with the same build character is much fun! That would also give you the ability to *keep* some creations longer, so that you wouldn't be trying to do the battle with new unleveled creations.
  10. Tek's spectral dirk is available to rebels as a quest reward from Denna in Zephyr Oasis. edit: I checked the dlg scripts, and can't see the dirk given as a quest reward other than for Denna's quest. That doesn't mean that it's not available in a hidden room somewhere, just that there's no other instance of reward_give(84) in the scripts. Similarly the claymore isn't an outright reward anywhere: there's no reward_give(79) .
  11. Got it, excellent, thanks Blurb! Walkthrough updated. You know, I'd even killed both of the darned unbound, but I *hate* pylons so much I didn't make it to the lovely loot in the southwest. Next time through I'll know better!
  12. resetbugs...undoes destroying or freeing the shredbugs Thanks randomizer, but the bugs part actually went fine -- it's just the reporting of the incident that won't work. Abandoning a faction after you've already sworn to join it will annoy that faction. Yep, I'd gotten that far: I just wanted to verify that it's impossible to move from Astoria's faction to Litalia's? (The dialogue warns you of the permenancy of the switch; it doesn't warn you that you won't be able to complete the new quest sequence.)
  13. I'm not sure if this matters, because it's such a weird thing to do, but I think I've just backed a character into a corner such that she wouldn't be able to finish the game. This was my Astoria-faction agent, who had been through the entire factional quest series, including Kayar's spire. I brought her to Litalia, had her swear to the Trakovites, and ran her back to the first faction-only trakovite quest, which is to release the shredbugs. The problem comes in that Litalia wants her to report the release to Astoria, who "refrains from killing" her, but who won't talk to her. So she can't finish the trakovite quest series, and of course she can't go back to Astoria. It seems odd that one couldn't shift from one rebel faction to another -- is Astoria's refusal to talk just because of the crazy-high level at which she left? (I didn't yank her out of the endgame, but it was my last save before the endgame sequence.) It's a little disconcerting to have gotten the character to an unwinnable state...
  14. Oh, it looked like part of the bookcase. I can't *believe* I couldn't find it, but thank you -- because for some reason I just couldn't see it.
  15. Okay, I feel incredibly stupid, but I thought it was time for the challenge areas, so I've reloaded an old game, slaughtered everything in kayar's spire, and searched the place high and low for an access crystal. I see a slider door in the north, just east of the room which had spire researchers, gazers, and war tralls... It won't open. I've even tried all the stupid things Click to reveal.. like for example shutting all the doors, locking myself in for steamy death , but I can't seem to figure out how to get the darned thing open. Am I missing another lever? Hidden, I assume, behind a pillar? Somewhere?
  16. If I'm reading the scripts correctly -- and I'm new at these scripts, so I may very well be wrong! -- ellek'sss will *speak* to you if your reputation minus part of your leadership are low enough, but she'll only train you if your factional alliance is with a rebel group. edit: wow, I totally posted this in the wrong thread, but the forum won't let me delete the message, so take it as a random unattached bit of knowledge.
  17. Heck, for charm I'm coming up with the canister behind Mehken's bedroom in Gazaki-Uss, and the drakon in Dera South Shore. The Drakon is right out for loyalists. The Gazaki-Uss canister is normally a Mehken quest reward -- I'm not sure if it's possible to get to it without doing the quest? It might be your best bet. edit: I went back and looked at an old randomizer post: "Zephyr Oasis Guardian Kulish for Shaper factions - (Exorbitant) - ...charm,..."
  18. Quote: This walkthrough topic has been added to Strategy Central woohoo, I feel useful!
  19. Oooh, I did, I *did* miss them! As in, *completely* missed them.... where in the secret labs, Vempele, are they in the southwest bit?
  20. thanks -- if people like it and want to use it, I'll put it up on my domain once I *cough* pay some bills. I'll even chunk it up and add reasonable navigation!
  21. *bops self on head* Sometimes it just takes another pair of eyes. Thanks!
  22. The initial walkthrough is complete, in that you can get from the begining of the game through a successful ending using it. It's incomplete, in that it needs work and input! It's in parts. I apologize for the odd hosting -- I really do plan to put it up on a regular server, but for now it's available in three four parts on my lj: northwest terrestia: the demo nw terrestia: beyond the demo sw terrestia: storm plains sw terrestia: dera reaches and endgame Corrections, additions, and clarifications are welcome. I believe I've checked the leadership and reputation values in the scripts, but feel free to check up on me. I'm especially interested to fill in any (?)s which remain. I'd love it if folks would check the walkthrough the next time you run a character, and send me any edits you have! I'd especially like to know: • Did I miss any quests, or get them wrong? • Did I miss any reputation encounters, or forget to mention if fulfilling a quest grants reputation? • Did I get the leadership and mechanics requirements right? Known issues: • Missing regions. Walkthrough doesn't yet include the Disposal Vault or Sammann's Isle. [these are coming very very soon.] • Printing irregularities due to hosting: printing from lj can cause text hiccups.
  23. Just writing up Bennhold's Keep for the walkthrough, and realized I'd never figured out how to reach the canister in the northwest corner. I must have missed a lever somewhere?
