  1. i say no to the repair thingy, cause lets face it, it will only suck the gold u get. the idea of having a skill to augment ur gear (like spells, wich u would need to find/buy/learn from npc the recipes) would be great. still dont think this should be trainable by skill points, but instead choosen like a trait from a various number of specialisations specialisations or, to not have alot of "professions", count it as aanother trait to choose from. also i wouldnt mind zones with monster respawn, this would bring farm to the game to get a litle bit more loot to buy skils, not that i think its necessary tho, A5 gave plenty of cash to go around, it just takes some time to save it. upgradable weapons, u would have a magic weapon/shield/armor wich could be turned into something more powerfull by collecting the necessary upgrade items in sidequests maybe. like each weaponsmith in major cities would gave u a optional quest to get that item (quests harder than normal but that would compensate for the upgraded item) like "anvils r's: find how the hell does X create so many anvils"

  4. maybe X has a room full of anvils and just opens a small portal over the target('s head) then ports it back to that room to "reload the magasine" conjure anvils would mean free steel and would crush the economie of the mining corporations...
  5. i restarted so many times cause of this or that thingy. 1 thing editor should have is to lower skills, so in case i think "meh, shouldnt have bought this now but instead that" i could undo my action, or just by testing with skills at a later game.
  6. my priest always have a minimum of 4 mage to get haste so he can help in buff area during fights (and a bit later slow), also my mage has at least 4 of priest lvls to also help in buff area. my priest helps with acid and firebolt at max lvls (they are cheap and good), acid being really good, hope they dont nerf it

  8. meh, in exile games i carried thrown weapons just for the purpose of 1 char couldnt get to melee range or to save a bit of energy, other than that i ignored arrows. in A5 i fealt a need for every1 to have a bow, even if weak just replacing them with better as soon as i find them, it just comes handy many times. and in the hands of a nephil caster then its a gr8 way to save energy when a monster is at 3 life and u dont wanna waste a firebolt or a smite(this one consumes a good chunck of energy from ur priest), because if i dont need to heal so why not send a bit of extra dmg while saving energy? but tracking the number of arrows/throwns was anoying and was what made me not like missile weapons in the first place
  9. i tend to name nephil a bit like native american names, Silverfur (if priest), Ambertail(if mage), but my warrior or archer is...wait for it...Furricane (fur+hurricane:p). also like Panther tho, if i use skin with the black nephil. for the slith i dont take much trouble, usualy go with Slithlord (sith lord) for melee and thats it, usualy go with the first slith skin but bright green. wouldnt mind having like 4 diferente skins for casters and 4 for melees, not a big skin selection as in exile but at least more to chose and customise.its also the litle details that make the game enjoyable. edit:added native american as The Almighty Doer of Stuff says

  13. hmm this jsut crossec my mind: how will the batle disciples work with dual wield? like well-aimed blow and mighty blow wich say ur next atack will cause more dmg, will this only afect ur first hit with sword or will be changed to afect both swings in that attack?
  14. the light spells were very usefull in exile because we had plenty of mana to go around by resting after fight(just reach formello and stock urself with plenty of cheap food) isntead of having to leave what ur doing and run back to town. very usefull when behind enemy lines.
  15. woot, dual wield back is good, i remember when i abused it in E2 with assassination skill but... shields will now fall in the shadows as they will become rather useless enless they are "stats sticks". im curious if we can abuse the system so that dual becomes better than poles, or if in the end we can abused poles to get same effect. hope the creator doesnt remember to make the second weapon ekiped to do half dmg to compensate for all the "abuseness" that we will certainly do. still, was good to actualy have fighters using poles as i discarded them in all exile games.
  16. i think its rest asure that dorikas fortress of A5's end will be used but the mistery on how still remains.
  17. about the gremlins on the rapids, daze, slow and acid one and kill it, pick another target, repeat. worked fine for me. edit: use leg sweep (or whats its name) on the targeted gremlin, also having augmentation on ur "tank" char helps.
  18. 1 thing he is right, there is not monster respawn to farm loot and gold other than that think the game is fine.
  19. u can have same story with human hating mad crystal vanhatai, but ur right on those points
  20. the idea of garhzad in crystal soul is good. u can get many ideas from that one. some vanhatai (that never liked humans) bring back garhzad in crystal soul (and mad for revenge) this time it could be a full out war agaisnt the human race, a full legion of demons from the void wich seek food and kingdoom (this would make avernum and empire to set diferences asside and work together). when i say human race it doesnt mean slith and nephilim cant join us. also many of the demon army could have corrupted/possessed sliths and nephils (some demons can only enter this word by possessing), demon worshipers wich seek imortality,etc... storyline: garhzad uses his old influence to struck a deal with the demon lord to attack the human world. half of avernum is quaked, and many continents destroyed by floods/vulcano/hurricanes/"all-the-badass-demon-nature-destruction-spells. the party could start as a refugee help team that quickly turns into a rescue team trying to kill the vulcano's demon wich had (lets say) the mayors daughter hostage. by killing him u could find some evidence of the demon conspiration against human kind. after reporting to ur superior u are quickly sent to the castle (of the empire) wich is under siege and keep the royal family inside. after saving the day and reporting about the conspiracy u are sent by the emperor himself (yeah royal clearence ftw ) to seek help of and inform avernum (wich is also under attack by the demon army) about the recent events. the avernum's king faced with this replies that avernum is also under attack and cant spare forces wich will lead (yes u know it) to the help-me-and-i-help-u quests. slay the demon cult or cleanse the possessed people wich is attacking avernum. after this done, avernum sents some of his army to the surface to help the assault at the demons fortress (wich could be something like in exile2 when u attack the ziggurat, lots of nps fighting BUT that cant survive if u just stare at the fight). finding evidence of the demon worlds portal (yes portal im sure every1 liked the chain quests to get all things to shut the portal in E2. once the demons are defeated at the surface its time to shutdown the portal from the demon world->deep down the vanhatai lands, wich can only be closed from the other side. sent alone to the demon world and after the "self destruct" cowntdown has started u rush to try to get back before its to late to return. this will end with a face to face fight with garhzad. the end story is that u make it to the portal, return home and it implode (yes implode not explode, avernum is already to damaged ). its time to rebuild avernum and the empire wich is the best time for conspiracys to take place, but that would be for another game. sorry if it turned into a big post

  22. this have nothing to do with the gameplay and would certainly take a huge chunk of time but what about having 3 story books for the 1ºtrilogy. i did love the story of it while playing so i wouldnt mind reading it all. how it wouldw be shared with players i dont know. sold? being given with A6? being given as bonus ending of A6? or just freely given on spiderweb site? that would be left for them to decide.
  23. exile2 still is the best of exile and avernum games. but yes exile and avernum are way diferent. i actualy like the A5 mechanism but not A2. tried the demo of A2 but gave up before finishing it due to be used to E2 and A5 :S hell, even A4 anoys a litle (not being able to atack with 1 action sucks)
  24. well the map could have an option to put/remove dots on the map, and also dots with diferent colots. i for 1 had to take a printscreen of a full played game map and edit it with paint so i remember wich arcane/nature lore poinst i left behind instead of wondering the maps, same thing for barriers for later dispel with spell. if we had this interactive map, it would be preaty easy to remember lockpicks, doors, AL/NL and whaterver points left behind. if it would mess up programing or not i cannot say but i think this would save some trouble as not every1 would remember or give the trouble of doing what i did. then again, its just an idea...
