Fallout 2
Read a lot about this one. I wish I was old enough to have played Fallout 2 back in the day, and now judging by a video of how it looks like I'm doubtful of whether I'll enjoy it, and it's not like I'm desperately looking for old-school rpg's anyway.
Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines
Read about it, seems interesting. Especially the part about Project Vaulderie, a remake of the original game in the Unity engine which was forced to stop after receiving a Cease&Desist from the copyright holder. And hey the fans have taken this alpha-released game and made it all awesome and everything, with the latest patch in 2014 Putting this on my games-to-play list.
Space Rangers
I'm put off by the word 'Space' in the title. And 'Rangers'. Ewww.
Dominions 4
That description seems promising. Putting this in my games-to-play list too.

I want to be able to use the arrow keys to move around instead of point and click. It's one of my biggest irritations
Makes it appear as if the whole game world is a grid (which it is) but I'm not a fan of how obviously grid-like the movement is in the Avernum's. Point and click gives you 'smoother' non-edgy movement.

And remember that cheat which would give you a rock ? You could type it again and again and get lots of rocks.
*happy memories*

most posts will be fine, and when a post isn't, other players will mostly realize it immediately.
What can the GM do when they find an inappropriate post ?

As far as I know, the menu buttons don't rely on font files, they are stored as *.png images inside the data folders.

trying to bug the game so it would fully unlock the demo. Good times, good times.
How did you try to bug it ? Back when I couldn't buy the full G3, I so badly wanted to visit Dhonal's Isle that I tried copying all the scripts from that zone into zone 0, and the effects were weird

There are some people in this forum working on this, though I don't know how it's going. I haven't tried the programs they've made so far...
There's a Blades of Geneforge wiki with modding information here.

I believe only mods can upload attachments, I remember Tyranicus helping me with one.
Edit : Btw that was kind of an exceptional case. I don't of course mean to imply that PM'ing mods with our attachment requests will work

Why do you call it a drayk-bird ?

So long as he isn't planning to remake A:EFTP once again sometime around 2020, I have no reason to complain.

If you're playing via Steam, try hitting (by default) F-12. Barring that, I'd recommend avoiding fullscreen mode...
Why do you recommend avoiding it ?

I'm no expert but you'll have a greater probability of having the question answered if you specify :
What's the bandwidth meted out to you by your ISP ? http://testmy.net/
Can you name some of the online games you play ?
Since when did you experience these problems, and in which games ?

I can never remember recipies. Or place names.
I have a poor memory.

There are multiple versions of " - if you look the 2 in my post are slightly different
I zoomed into the two " in your last post for closer observation but it just made me look silly. Both look the same to me.
You must have a text editor where the opening quotation symbols are different from the closing ones (“…”).

Are there multiple versions of " ?

BoA scenarios are just that, scenarios. Not being standalone, they can't be played independent of a paid copy of BoA and are therefore limited to the BoA subsection of the SW community, which includes those like me who only open up BoA like once in two months.
plus, barriers to entry for independent game design are as low as they've ever been
My favourite links for a comparison of game engines and where to deploy them.
If it's complicated to do anyway and requires scripting then yeah, there's no point in making an "editor" when there are so many great alternatives.
I've noticed that interesting games (and most of the really good BoA scenarios I've played so far) always require some level of scripting, and the visual drag-drop logic that most game development kits offer as an alternative are clunky and limited.

No great surprises in the posts so far, except I didn't know Goldenking identified as female (why was it king, and not queen ?).

I think Jeff did account for people who think this way with the 'Turn Off Character Editor (permanently)' option for BoA.
If you're on windows, I could send you a modified Geneforge executable with cheats disabled (As for me, I modified it to cheat more, not less; I changed them all into single-letter cheat codes so I didn't have to type the whole thing).
But there's no way you can stop yourself from modifying the scripts, you've to live with that.
