  1. Ha. Doubt I'll make it to 61. I am a bit miffed though. I'm just whiling away my time breaking down walls here in Grah-Hoth's little cottage and I would like to have my skill points, please!
  2. Whew! Thanks! I thought I'd borked the game. (Just found the blessed athame though, so I'm cool.)
  3. Oh alas. I'm nearing the endgame(s). I've reached levels 30 and 31. I've let the game sit for two whole months due to Life Activities in the Real World. So I'm playing last night. I heard the little level up "ding!" but the character's little icon did not turn green, nor did it give me any new points to spend. Just now I used a wisdom crystal on a character that was close to leveling. I got the "ding!" and the experience bar clearly emptied out and is starting again, but again I'm getting no green icon and no new points. Something got corrupted while I was away (although I can't imagine how as I haven't even opened the game). Is there any way to fix it? I've never had anything like this go wrong in a Spiderweb game before. Thanks!
  4. Yes indeedy. Got it. That ladder is kinda hard to see. Quest all cleared up! Thanks again!
  5. On the UPPER floor! Aha! THAT'S what I missed. Had the fort right though. Thanks!
  6. So I have a stupid question. Fairly early in the game we get a quest, I think from a job board, from Mayor Vicky asking for an adventurer to take Slith Fort Intel to Captain Scarlett in Fort Emerald. I've wiped out every Slith fort. I picked up what I think is the object of this quest a long time ago in the little fort just east of Fort Emerald. However, Captain Scarlett has never responded. I've still got the quest in my list. What did I miss? I'm getting to the endgame, just trying to clean up the loose ends! Thanks!
  7. Oh I remember Hawke's Manse! Yeah, great place. I loved that. So is it not in this game? I'm still in an earlyish stage. Well drat, if it's not. (I'm still loving this game though. I love the freedom to travel all over, after Avadon's limited little areas.)
  8. Nifty keen! Thanks! Of course, once we get the spells for ourselves we shouldn't need these, but they're awfully nice to have now.
  9. So I found this nifty pool on the other side of the river from Formello that gives me Arcane Cloak for as long as I stay out of towns. I used that to wipe out three and a half Slith forts before I ran out of spell energy. I was pretty sure that would only work once, but I went back to the pool to check it out and aha! It gave the cloak again! Now I find that the little chapel in the Castle will give you Ward of Elements. So, a question: is there a limit to how many times you can get these temporary goodies? Or are they just available if you're willing to travel to get them? Thanks! (Gad, I'm enjoying this game! This is one of Jeff's best!)
  10. Aha! Gavin is standing by the lake, very near the border. So I'm at the secret entrance now. Thanks! I'd looked everywhere around the castle, but he's quite far away from it. You have saved me much frustration!
  11. Have traveled all over the area, but I'll do it again. Must have missed it. Stay tuned.
  12. OK, Hand Gavin got me to slaughter the arrogant Count and his minions, and has led me to the secret passage back to the castle. So I take the passage and wind up at the closed gate, shooting the guards through windows. OK, so I slaughter all the guards. Normally, once I've killed all the enemies, Hand Gavin shows up. But not this time. The gate is still closed. I can't find a way in. I appear to be well and truly stuck. How do I get back into the castle? Thanks!
  13. Oh man I wish I could close the doors! I suppose we can use quicksave to steal stuff. Maybe we'll get away with it. That's where a huge amount of my cash has always come from! However, I stole an energy potion and was seen! But nothing happened. Nobody attacked me. Do we lose something when we're caught stealing?
  14. That's part of the plot. Just keep playing. Eventually you'll get into a new area where you can find it.
  15. Thanks! Will look for her next time I'm there.
  16. Where is she? I've had that quest forever, and haven't run into her yet. (Just finished the bandit pit)
  17. Quote: You can also just stick all of it in your junk bag I love that junk bag innovation. Soooo much easier to manage your stuff. You don't sell stuff by mistake, you don't have to make three trips back to a dungeon to clean it out. Great innovation!
  18. make sure you have enough for both upgrades in one trip so you'll never have to trek through that damnable maze again Good point! Thanks!
  19. So there I am in the Castle V., talking to the Incantress and delivering to her my magical glowing green goo. She offers to bless me for the bargain basement price of 3,000 coins. Also, earlier there was that guy out in the Shadow Beast woods, who offered to train me for another mere 3,000 coins. So, are these things worth it? I mean, what else am I going to spend my money on? Thanks!
  20. Also, don't forget your junk bag. As you grab the loot, put salable items straight into the junk bag, then you can sell it all with one click. Keeps the inventories lots cleaner.
  21. Wheee! It worked! I used the copy and paste technique. Easier, and it didn't crash the game. I just copied the entire block of the Turtle's text and pasted it over the same block of script text. The lockpicks glow even in the inventory. I dropped one on the ground, and it glowed there too! I also did the switches fix. The game runs perfectly (at least as long as I tried it--anyway it didn't freeze this time), but I'll have to locate a switch to see if that worked. (Bet it did!) Thanks all! And thank you Turtle! Hooray!
  22. I can get draft or grayscale with copying, but printing doesn't give you any options. I'll have to check on the website. There must be a FAQ. But I'm betting that because they kept their B&W ink so cheap (which is why I bought the printer), they want to soak you on the color ink, so they don't give you the option. Fantastic printer, other than that. The ink is so cheap I'll put up with that little annoyance.
  23. He ought to give us the option. Some of us have older eyes, as Jeff himself will someday discover, and THEN he'll feel all guilty. He gave us the option to change the type size. I wouldn't have been able to play the game for very long without that larger type.
  24. Thanks! I couldn't tell if there was a tab or five spaces, or an understroke. Obviously, what I picked was wrong. Will try to copy and paste, sometime tonight (have to run errands first). Obviously this fix has worked for lots of folks, at least those of us with Macs. I wonder if someone influential could convince Jeff to put this fix in as an option in the next update (or the next game). (On that backup--I copied the entire scripts, then was able to restore those easily. Good practice. Otherwise I would have had to download the game again, probably.)
  25. I keep looking for that but haven't found it yet. Bet you're right, though. I will keep exploring. Maybe the option is hidden in preferences.
