  1. And make sure you are wearing the bracelet.
  2. The ability to learn forbidden magic. Like Necromancy. Damnit, I want a Shaper with a loyal army of shades!
  3. Because of how damage levels work... Fyoras actually get fairly strong now. I have a Loyalist Shaper right now that is playing no canisters, and all he has (Due to variant restrictions) is access to Fyoras and Cryoas. He has 3 Fyoras that he has raised from the very start, and they are strong! They are doing about as much damage as a Drayk of the same level. (One Fyora is level 30ish) While they have similar firebolt damage, they do not have similar bite damage, and I think the Drayk would have a bit, but not much more, health. Also, due to variant restrictions, his only allowed offensive spells are firebolt and icebolt. He does have a full array of Mental Magic though. They did hit a rough patch about mid game. I can not explain exactly why that was... But they bogged down for a bit... And then once they hit low to mid twenties, they picked up again and started pulling their own weight.
  4. No, you have to go to Dhonal's Isle to get it. It makes the Shade Pit manageable on Torment.
  5. Quote: Originally written by Contra: I think that it is very doable with a Shaper on Torment if you don't care too much about your creations. No need to leave Harmony. Two words. Mass Energise.
  6. Me personally... I usually wait till I have been to Dhonal's Isle with most of my chars. I hate slowing... It's even worse in G3. UGH!
  7. Or a chance to learn some basic Guardian skills, like from Lord Ruhal or something. Or Grainer, in return for saving his sorry butt. You know, Guardian skills... Like Quick Action and Parry. Yes, and his armor sucks. Everything from the midgame on seems to hit him every time.
  8. Good tactics!!! I can't really recommend melee engagement much though, as those shades have a slowing touch, and if you get slowed, you WILL die.
  9. Greta gets Searer from a mage in Dhonal's Keep. And yeah, wait a while. Those shades are nasty, and magic resistant.
  10. Wait and come back. It's pretty nasty.
  11. One would assume that the Godlike One would either hold Awakened Views, or would be in it entirely for his or her self. Remember, in G1, the Awakened groomed you to serve their ideals, and prompted the use of the Geneforge. Of course, there is a chance of a Shaper using it that was non aligned. In which case, the Council and the Rebels would both be in for a LOT of trouble. If we follow the Awakened line of thinking, which is about balance, the Godlike one would see the scales tipping and would lay into both sides. While he or she probably not utterly destroy them, he could fight them to a standstill. He has something the Ur Drakkons don't... Shaper training and tactics. He has something regular Shapers do not have. Godlike power. He could easily wear down both sides till there was no choice but to make peace and lay down arms. If we follow the line of thinking of a non aligned power hungry Godlike being... This could easily be his or her chance... TO RULE THE WORLD!!! Pinky, are you thinking what I am thinking?
  12. I am sure Alwan does ok at lower difficulty settings... But he blows chunks on Torment. He dies when stuff just looks at him funny. And yes, that is with all the important buffs... Creations are better. Somebody or something shouldn't have to be buffed to the gills to earn their keep. A real Shaper has no time for coddling milksops... It's do or die in the Shaper army, and Alwan chooses to die.
  13. Why a blessing magic of 11? What good does that do? I could think of better places to spend those points. Is it to make your War Blessing last a few seconds longer?
  14. But you only get the charm if you bring him the items, and it's a good charm.
  15. It is very possible to kill him when you meet him in the Bulwark Inn. Just be prepared. Rush him in combat mode before you see him. Come prebuffed. Smite him with Terror, and it breaks his script. He runs and stands in the corner whimpering, and doing nothing. Use Wands of Stun, Icy Crystals, etc, to strip away his AP. You want to lock him down where he can not restart his run away and throw clawbugs at you script. And you don't want him toasting you like a marshmallow, so hit him hard and fast.
  16. Hit something with a dose of burning spray and then hit it with Terror. Run it down. At least if it is running away from you, it is not attacking you. This is important. Also, try Terror on Hoge when you meet him.
  17. Guardians are ultimately a failure, but a fun class to play now because of missiles. Shapers become tedious. Sure, creations can kill, but it takes a while. Ho hum. Agents on the other hand... They walk into a room and say "Oh look... Ashes!" They are grossly overpowered. They kill quickly. They seldom need to actually retreat. For all this talk about ducking around corners, I don't find my self doing that very often. Walk into a room, Daze, and start killing at will. For things you can't Daze, there is Dominate and Terror, which completely nullifies any credible threat. Smash your foes with ice, stunning them into total submission where they have no APs. With the Guardian and the Shaper, the enemy has a chance. Creations do die. With an Agent, there is no such chance. There is only death. Victory is assured with a competent driver. It actually becomes boring after a while.
  18. A good Agent pumps Battle Magic. The best Agent uses everything at her disposal, including Mental Magic. Dominate and Terror are key to complete and total destruction of your enemy. Terror, I have found, breaks AI scripting in G3. There are several occasions where this becomes valuable. I will leave it to you to figure them out. Never, ever, under any circumstances, add points to Endurance or Shaping Skills. An Agent is more than just Daze and Essence Orbs now. Things have resistances. Pay attention.
  19. Good luck killing him on Dhonal's. Hint. Fill him with Terror.
  20. If looted properly, the first island alone can get you about 7k in gold. That's including selling off those bolts of cloth from the school.
  21. Wands should be rechargeable. Some wands have very hard to find bits. Solves the gold problem.
  22. Greta can do as much physical damage as he does. He does get a weak acid attack later. Alwan is a plonker.
  23. Essence Orb breath from the Drakkons seems to do just a bit more damage now. Also "feels" like it hits more often against endgame enemies. Rots are better. How exactly? Well, not for damage. Attack power is so so, but man, they are damage sponges now. They can get pounded on and their parry skills along with their own damage resistance really makes for a tough creation. There are creations that do more damage easiliy, but I have not found a creation that is so tough.
  24. My sincere apologies... But it irks me... In a bad way. I don't see why people can't just play the game. It makes no sense.
