  3. My edit took me too long... another edit: Inventive, as in the role they played as a major race, not unique...
  4. You would have to have sufficient rights to install a previously zipped (or rar-ed) version after unzipping (or un-rar-ing) it. I'm afraid I don't understand the question properly.

Vahnatai I found all of these inventive enough... edit: I'm still, after all these years, sad, that I didn't make it back here in due time after our first Blades of Exile endeavours. Too much work and too little thinking about Spiderwed Software's achievements kept me away until Avernum IV, which, according to some sort of canon, strangely enough got me hooked again.

  7. OK, I've re-read what's been said and I have to agree. Haste does not give you a second attack per se, but it sure helps in geting one, right?
  8. I'm at a loss here, folks. What exactly does haste do then? I thought it made this little comment where it says that you (or your minion) feel(s) really fast and can strike twice instead of once. edit: it says something along the lines of: xxx experiences a sudden burst of speed.
  9. Haste increases the probability of your character or his minions to strike twice instead of once.
  10. Dikiyoba should be more sensitive. The fat Fyora may have feelings, after all. If all creation types were always exactly the same, there wouldn't be anyone fighting for them.
  11. Ah, I remember the days of Exile II when I mailed Jeff a bundle of dollar bills in an envelope. Amazing.
  12. Aldous, I think you have a very valid point there. One of my favourites is Exile 2 for the reasons you mentioned. After Nethergate I quit playing Jeff's games for a while (nothing to do with his games, though) and finally came back for Avernum 4 (which I enjoyed, but not as much as Exile 2). After that I played Geneforge 3 and liked it a lot (story- and gameplay-wise). I've played every game since and while I thoroughly (some more, some less) enjoy them, they all fail to reach the quality of Exile 2's intricate storyline (GF 5 only slightly imho). But whatever Jeff's got up his sleeve: I'm pretty sure I'll like it
  13. I don't think that Jeff would want masses of tester, simply because he wouldn't get around to programming much, just managing their reports. Massive call-outs for beta testers make sense mostly for server stress-testing under real-life conditions. That he closed the call for new testers implies that he's already found enough. There seems to be no reason for more advertising.
  14. Ringworld, Star Trek Destiny and mostly proofreading my own novel to get it ready for publishing (yeah!).
  15. I am not quite sure what you mean. You want Jeff to mail every Windows user who's ever registered a game with Spiderweb? Now why would he want to do that? Or which group of Windows users are you referring to?
  16. I wonder: since the keyboard (and thus the shortkeys) is customizable, can't you assign a letter to bringing up the creation menue? And if so, can't you shift said letter to reach the desired outcome?

  18. Here are a couple of tips for editing your character: 1) Search the scripts for encounters where you are rewarded (stats, items, whatever) 2) Browse the appropriate script for item numbers (stat numbers you have to do research for - it's tedious but possible) 3) Apply whatever you want as a reward for any quest and you'll get it (if you reward yourself in the script - please, backup first) 4) If you're wondering why I'm not posting scripts - I feel it destroys too much of gameplay and fun to be had. You want to be an unkillable superhero? Work it out!

  21. I never made a level 3 Rot until way into beta. Perhaps it was different before.
  22. The upgrade to your standard Rot is the Rotdhizon. I just made one.

  24. Are you running GF5 in window mode?
  25. VMWare is a pretty powerful tool, which - with a little tweaking - will run MacOS pretty fast. See details here. Be aware, though, that you will have to check these instructions against your EULAs.
