I haven't done the numbers, and I don't think I have any saves from which I could conveniently try this, but it seems at least possible. Cool, I will definitely try this, when i get a chance. I'll save as many convo options as i can for the switch to rebels.
  2. Thanks to the magic of not having a job, and a girlfriend who is also hooked on Geneforge, I have now confirmed answers to my questions. Question 1: Is there a way to get/complete all non-faction quests? Answer: Definitely. With High Leadership and a middling reputation, you can do all the non-faction quests. Just grab all from one side, switch reputation with opinions and quests and grab the other. Just remember to finish all the quests in a town before pissing off that town (say, by leaving their faction. For example, I never got rewarded for killing Bennhold ) Question 2: Can you join/leave all factions? (in a way that is profitable?) Answer: YES! And you get access to ALL the faction-only areas (including all repository keys) The correct order is: 1) Do all the Rawal Quests up to the last one (Kill Platano) 2)Join Taygen, do everything up and including "Complete the Agent" 3) Join Alwan, do everything up to and including "The Purity Agent" - Here is where you switch reputation to rebels. you did save convo options and rep quests, right? 4) Join the Trakovites, do everything up to and including "The Purity Agent" 5) Join Astoria, do everything up to and including "The Purity Agent" 6) Join Rebels, and destroy all Shapers and Trakovites! I definitely recommend doing a run-through of this, its very fun! note: The Almighty JV added some cheat codes relating to the shredbugs, so that you can undo the damage you did there, making it possible to do quests that would otherwise be ruined.
  3. Ah, thanks for the tip Randomizer. In all the Geneforge games, I've never found a reason to pump any shaping skills past 5. Seriously, because I'd rather put it into INT. But I'll give it a try.
  4. Hmm, interesting. I found the exact same thing. I usually like doing solo games where I just max out QA and Parry and stab everything to death. I found this pretty impossible to do in G5 (on normal!) So I started over with a deadweight lifecrafter. Turns out, my "deadweight" makes a nice punching bag in G5. He can take a LOT of hits before going down. Hell, he's got more base endurance than most of my creations (at least for the first part of the game.)
  5. I dont usually ask for help on the forums, but I also don't like running around the same area in circles for hours. I've completed the mission, now where is this Trahan-guy I'm supposed to report my success to? The Quest note says he is Perikalia, but I honestly can not find him. Does he disappear?
  6. WHAT?!?! its been out for 3 days and I didn't even notice? Thanks a lot Fallout 3! ...Sorry Jeff, I'll get to G5 when I can, you know how it is.

  8. I for one, suggest neither admonishing NOR praising the beta-testers. I am beta-neutral. (that will get me farther in the game, right?)
  9. It would make sense if the Shaper Council were just about anywhere. With the war on, they probably set up some sort of mobile-councilling-unit so they could operate on whatever continent is the least... burnt down. That said, it would just feel right if it took place in Western Terestria, otherwise Turabi gate was kind of a tease.
  10. It's snowing outside and this game still isn't out yet. Who do I blame? Jeff or Global Warming/Cooling?

  13. Regret! Why did I not sign up for beta-testing? I have an fancy intel/leopard dealio! And I would have totally been willing to quit my job to beta. Oh well, next time I guess. Oh wait, this is the last GF! Nooooo! Make more GF games Jeff!!!
  14. A lonely shaper might be able to "get friendly" with his fyora, but I wouldn't call that the ability to reproduce. August update?
  15. I agree, she does have legs. and very stylish grey socks. Oh man, this is a ridiculous discussion. If this game doesn't come out soon, we're all going to go stir-crazy. I'm still hoping for a July update

  17. Ok, so I'm not big on the whole playable Drakon thing... but I am a huge fan of unlockables, which you don't really see in The Geneforge series. I think you should earn something for beating the game that you can use in your next play-through.

  19. Jeff, I have no recommendations, requests, advice, or demands. Just make your game. Given how good G4 was, I'm sure this will be the best game ever. I await it's release in excited anticipation. I dearly love your video-game-making skills. Keep on keepin' on, dude.
  20. ^ i really am not a fan of the new item getting/equipping window. I thought the old way was much more efficient. plus I find myself losing important items when i unequip them, because i seem to instinctively want to put them to the right side of the screen, like in the old one, which in this game is "the ground". bah!
  21. I noticed that when i grab the wand of inferno in the mines on the first island and put it in my weapon slot, even if my default attack is on firebolt, it still uses the wand. any one else experienced this?
  22. and.... downloaded. I'd stick this in the win column for being in the right place at the right time.
  23. I really hope this is the last anticipation thread. I'm asuming the game is going to be realeased tomorrow, but even if it isn't this thread can apply to the next day. EDIT: Stupid thing deleted. But at least I was right about it being the last anticipation thread. not counting pc users.
  24. I'm 99% sure this is going to be the opening music for GF3. EDIT: crap, nevermind, they don't allow direct linking. Suffice to say, it was that Papa Roach hit song. joke = ruined.
