  3. If it was the registered version, I had the same problem. The email Jeff sends you, or which you recieve from SpidWeb if it isn't Jeff, states that you might need to use Internet Explorer. AOL didn't do it either.
  4. Maybe it could focus on the Empire's earlier days, when it wiped out the troglodytes the first time? I think that it will definately take place in one of the other continents. I don't know how, what with them being settled, but Valorim is old hat. And with the exception of Exile (which is a much better name than Avernum), Jeff hasn't used the same location twice in any of his games. Perhaps a pre- (or even post-) Empire world could work?

If YOU would care to look, Holly has significantly fewer posts than Marlenny. Thus, Holly is the newer of the members, since she has posted less. Secondly, double-posting is generally a bad thing in all fora. I, for example, have managed to address two different things in this one post. It isn't hard. And, if you would care to look, "intentional double posting" is in violation of the CoC, whether or not it addresses two different things. If you want to seperate two different things, use paragraphs, or, if you must a row of dashes. Don't double post. And don't criticise others for asking, rather politely in my opinion, that newer members don't do it.
  6. Thrice: Loyalist Shaper (No Cannisters) Rebel Shaper (Cannisters) Loyalist Agent (No Cannisters) As you can see, I like the Shapers more than the Rebels. I currently have a Loyalist Guardian stuck in the middle of Harmony Island, but it's unlikely he'll finish.
  7. You should be able to create several artifacts before going over. Read the FAQ for more details... These are what you should be wearing.
  8. If Drakey says there is a GF4, there will be. Plus, the ending of GF3 did make it enivitable. And hopefully, if any of this feedback gets back to the big JV himself, GF4 will be something special.
  9. I have to admit, GF3 isn't one of the best games Spiderweb has produced. Far from it. But it might be worth noting that maybe Jeff planned all of this. Instead of making GF1, and then thinking, "hey this is good, lets do more", it might be that he sat down, wrote a huge story and then split it into chunks. If that is the case, then GF4 will continue the story. After all, there is now a war. This probably isn't what happened, but look at Star Wars. That was planned as a huge story, and Episodes 1 + 2 really sucked. Maybe GF is about to get much better? That said, I think Jeff should have at least tried to implement some new creations/spells. The fact is that during all of Ghaldring's time in the wilderness, "perfecting his skills", he didn't create so much as one new creature. And the Shapers, with their many research labs, haven't either. If GF4 comes out, we should at least give it a try. GF3 isn't everybody's cup of tea, but to be fair, neither was Exile or Avernum.
  10. I'd just use flag 34,5. If it's in the FAQ, it must work, right? Hope this helps.
  11. This is all theoritical but a little digging gave me this lot. Try this at your peril! Ok, to avoid having to fight Hoge, just hit [shift] + [d], and type: "sdf 34 5 1" (without quotation marks) This will allow you to speak to Sobel. I don't know whether you will be able to carry on with the rest of the game normally though. You could also leave town, hit [shift] + [d], and type in "sdf 35 5 0" and then [shift] + [d] and: "sdf 101 0 0" Those two are flags used to check whether or not Hoge should be present. I presume one is for killing him in the Roamer Marsh, and the other in the Shaping School on Greenwood Isle. Please tell me if these work. EDIT: I just checked and the first SDF is present in the FAQ. The second isn't.
  12. I think that depends on level. I'm sure I didn't get anything to write home about. I'll check tonight though. Anyway, even if it does, then as soon as you realise, you won't do it anymore, as to avoid ruining the game, right?
  13. Well, firstly, the nice serviles will help you kill Spharon, and then run off. They probably won't want to talk to you, since you're leading them to kill their old master. But, I just replayed this bit, and no errors. Secondly, the "quest" to speak to Corrie isn't a quest. Phasia just tells you to mention his name. I got no experience for this. She says something like "Tell him I'm okay", but that's as far as it goes. It shouldn't appear on your quest list.
  14. I just wanted to clear something up - you need to be running the Trainer in the background for it to work. Just opening it, turning things on and then closing it didn't work for me.
  15. Well I downloaded it. And bad things have failed to happen. My anti-virus, the clever little thing that it is, hasn't pointed an accusing finger. My guess is that it's clean. So, in future people, show some respect and/or trust for our fellow spiderwebbers! I haven't actually tried it yet though. Will do tonight.
  16. You sure can. I was refering to the spawners in the area previous to the Creator's Lair, or whatever it might be calling itself these days.

Look at the end of Geneforge 3, and 2 for that matter. The drakons are flying around and burning things. They can fly. Oh, and the golms don't die in the purification plant because Jeff didn't want you to be able to stand still and just wait for them to die in the atmosphere. Which would happen...
  18. Indeed, you do need 10 leadership. But that's hard to get on Greenwood Isle. I tried, but I was so woefully weak, I couldn't fight my way through the spawners to get to the Creator. Your best bet is to get the Commander (Hevig) to let you just see the Creator. You can try killing it too - daze works well on it's mates, and Alwan and Great should help. In short, get the FAQ.

Slightly off topic, but if you completed the Slime quest, he was friendly. On topic, not everyone likes the Shapers. Sure, it wouldn't do to get mad at them - look at Lankan, but there are people in the story who don't like them - some of them are even Shapers!
  20. I'm currently doing number 10 on the list - I haven't died yet, neither have I saved, except for Autosave. I have loaded Autosave, but only when turning my computer on at half past three (pm). I would leave it on all day, but my mum would scream and wave the electricity bill at me, and my brother would probably mess it up. Never trust children...
  21. Want to use the cannisters, but scared the Shaper's back home won't like you? Want to become uber-powerful, have an army of drayks, but don't want the boys back home to see? Ok. Here goes... Save your game, and hit shift-d. Type in "sdf 100 4 0". Press enter. There! You now haven't partaken in any cannisters. If you use this before boarding the boat to the mainland, you can see two endings in one game!
  22. Be warned - you need a reasonable level of Leadership before you can do that.
  23. It's a wild guess, but maybe your screen resolution is too low? If the buttons are actually off the screen as opposed to mashed up, try right-clicking your desktop, then clicking properties. Somewhere on this screen should be a slider which says screen resoultion. Change it too 800 x 600. That might work.

Your sig points the way to Google, which is probably the last place you'd want to look for something. If you did manage to sift your way through porn, sites pretending not to be porn, sites offering "FREE PORN DOWNLOADS" as long as you click in a certain place and useless sites in seemingly lost languages, and actually found what you were looking for, you'd probably find that the page no longer exists. Google sucks, but then again, is that just google, or the internet?
  25. Plus, escaping to the surface is the only "real" ending In Avernum. The others let you continue.
