  1. Oh, I see... But I don't think a Shaper can recreate the same brain. Also, it is undeniable IMO that a Drayk has a different brain than a Drakon and cryoa. Now, if the Shaper can put the emotions, memories, training, feelings of the original in the new brain then yes, but is that even possible? I think not.
  2. Emm... isn't that possible in all the Geneforge games? And isn't a certain villain in GF4 being exactly that, uniting Rebels and Shapers against him?
  3. I don't think that happens. When you absorb a Fyora, the Fyora is very much dead. When you "teleport" someone their feelings, memories, etc continue. Not so with the Drayk you make after the Fyora. In some way, when you give birth to a kid, it carries half of your genes. Not so with the Drayk that replaces the Fyora. This is not dismantling a car and using the parts to recreate a faithful copy. This is not even like dismantling a car and making a similar one using some of the parts. Actually, it is not even like dismantling a car and making another car of the same series. For Fyora to Cryora it is like dismantling a BMW series 3 and then making another BMW series 4 (without using parts). From Fyora to Drayk it is like dismantling a BMW series 3 and making a Mercedes of e class (without using any parts). I.e. the Fyora ~> Cryoa are more like cousins than twins, let alone a copy like from a teleporter. You could first make Cryoa Yharim along with Fyora Yharim and then after a week, destroy Fyora Yharim to get the essence for a clawbug.
  4. I find it poetic that you see them as evolving when in truth they are killed, dismantled back to essence and you create the new version.
  5. Wizardman, keep in mind that the mod I made is untested. There may be a script error or something there. Keep your gratitude till you verify it actually works!
  6. "surrendering to you._";begintalknode 150;" Hit the lines there, breaking the blocks, as in: ...urrendering to you._"; begintalknode 150; state = -1; nextstate = -1; condition = 1; question = ""; text1 ="At last ... EDIT: Or... simply use this zipfile from here. It has instructions on how to install this mini-mod.
  7. If it doesn't work, then I messed something up. I can't check this, as I don't have any save close to Moseh. And even if I did, it took me several tries to kill him so testing this is not possible for me.
  8. Nope. Just in case, try to keep the format of the rest. Specifically, hit enter between the ";" and text4. I am not sure if the code would realize there's a break there, if it reads And at a great cost.";text4 instead of And at a great cost."; text4
  9. Try this and tell me if it works: The red entries are new ones. This simple script should hopefully give you a Servile, Marthian. This guy is level 16, has 25% higher walking speed so he can move further in a round, he has a small bonus to hp and significant armor. Now, that script SHOULD trigger as Moseh dies. Not if you fix him, if you kill him. Find talknode 150 in z39mosehbdlg.txt Back-up the file!!!! Then, put the red text in talknode 150. Make sure you have one slot empty in your party. Re-kill Moseh (sorry!) If you DON'T get a servile named Marthian in your party then I did something wrong.
  10. I was checking the scripts for Moseh killing Khur. I have to say... perhaps not mod it, friend. Khur's death at the hands of Moseh is climatic and cathartic, a fitting end for Khur. If you haven't played it through, do so. I have forgot how awesome GF4 was... it's my favorite GF4 game and Moseh and Monarch are the main reasons for it.
  11. Dialogue is MUCH easier, but there are some pitfalls that you should be aware of. First, HERE is a thread about modding from TheKian: http://spiderwebforums.ipbhost.com/topic/24432-thekians-geneforge-modding-tutorial/?tab=comments#comment-303254 And HERE's is a thread from me although it's for people with some experience: http://spiderwebforums.ipbhost.com/topic/23635-scripting-and-modding-gf5/?tab=comments#comment-295567
  12. You just said: " it can't unless I mod it." Simply put... mod it.
  13. Well, make a mod where you can keep Khur... Add a bit of dialogue to him too if you can.
  14. Let's just say that you HAVE to go through Moseh's bunker anyway. You'll lose Khur, sorry to say it buddy. In my playthrough, the servile I had with me (not sure if he was Khur IIRC) turned against me. Sooo... keep in mind that while Khur won't say anything if you do a couple of quests for the Shapers, at some point, without warning he would tell you "I know you're not a true rebel" and turn against you. You can be full rebel, 150% rebel, and you would still lose Khur.
  15. I use "Swamp themed" names for my Vlish (thank GF3 for that) like "Miregas" etc. I name my drayks and drakons as fire-themed names like Magmaborn, Fireheart etc.
  16. I have never played the original... thus the non-spoiler thread.
  17. Keep in mind that TheKian has also made a tool that allows you to make new zones for GF5. I am using it these days for a mod I am (slowly) making. I think (not sure) that the tool COULD be used for GF4 or partially used at least. Contact him if you want. We would certainly appreciate more modders. About that tool, modding suite for GF5, it is quite easy to use with a little practice. I have used a previous version of that tool to make a new zone for my warrior mod in GF5.
  18. Another method my friend, since you're a modder, would be to change the damage this trap did instead of clearing a whole area. 🙂 That way you would get a tiny jolt.
  19. I think, from what I read, that Jeff is not going to remove anything, but will simply add things. Some of the "changes", like how the creations may look in the artwork compared to what we had in mind, are not really changes. For example, the Thahd looks more feline than I thought, but that's how it was in my head, not a change. Changing the mechanics though... that's the reason I waited to go into GF1 in the first place! 🙂 But I don't think GF1-M will remove anything story-wise. As for picking a victory from each previous game, I am not sure he will go with that. There are too many possible endings for him to simply stay faithful to one in my opinion. But we will see in the future.
  20. Dear all, I realized that obviously the vast majority that have been visiting these forums have played the old Geneforge 1. I am probably the only one that has not played geneforge 1 and is, by decision, blissfully unaware of what happens there. However, I would like to talk about the upcoming game without spoilers plus I expect newcomers will eventually find their way in this forum as we get closer to release. So... I believe we need a non-spoiler thread, which means no spoilers from the whole saga, for the newcomers. I took the liberty to make such a thread.
  21. There's another Shaper on Sucia island?!?! 😱 We've obviously headed to spoiler territory, and that was kinda a biggy. I realize that talking about the remake of a beloved game 20 years later and not expecting spoilers is ... absurd. My mistake for delving in here. I should not have read other posts. Oh well, let's hope I can manage to stay away from this thread in the future.
  22. The small video has Fyora's special abilities and in my opinion, Vlish didn't need to be buffed, but they needed to be able to buff. Also, consider what this means for GF2 and GF3: PC-controlled Gazers would be finally able to do what the scripted Gazers do + Alwan and Greta will have more abilities than a single attack.
