Garrulous Glaahk Geezer
I'm in the upper level of the Slith Temple trying to find the room with the alter. I've bumped into every wall around the square and back again. Need a hint as to where the blade is. (Must be a secret room somewhere ???) Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
If I remember correctly and its been a few years, the key to the sword part area is hidden in the northeast corner in a secret room area. The sword part is in the center of the second level. I remember in Exile I fighting my way to the place with the sword and finding that I forgot the key and had to fight my way out and back again. Garrulous Glaahk Geezer
Your right about the key being in the n/e corner of the lower level, then you get to the second level going up the stairs in the n/w corner. All fine so far but there's no sign of a locked door all around the series of rooms on the 2nd floor. How's your memory on that part?
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
You need to find a building in the center of the second level of the Slith Temple. You must find a secret door first, this is where Far Sight will come in handy.
Garrulous Glaahk Geezer
Although you don't say it, I am assuming the secret door is on the second level as well, right? Now, for the third time, I can't find it!!! That is what I am asking for help with. The second level occupies 3 sides of a square. Can you tell me is the door on the left side, the right side or in the top section that joins the other two sides? Thank you.
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
SPOILER The secret door, walk-through wall, is in the lower right hand corner. It is at the extreme right, it goes north-south.

Garrulous Glaahk Geezer
Ishad Nha, thank you. I found the door & I appreciate your help. I must have bumped into that corner at least 3 times, but this time I finaly got it right. Yes, Far Sight would definately have come in handy, but I didn't realize it was available in A-1? W-Dueck, thanks for your help, also.
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
Yes Far Sight is available, and only costs 3 spellpoints per use. You can only use it if you buy it somewhere, one such location is the Tower of Magi.
Garrulous Glaahk Geezer
Paid a visit to the Tower of Magi and now have Far Sight as well as lots of other good stuff. Thanks again....

(waxes nostalgic fo a moment) I can sympathize, having been in similar situations many times before. Fortunately, this is A1, where keys become meaningless once you have Unlock Doors at level 3. Curious Artila Fermata
Did anyone else find Demonslayer to be pretty underwhelming? My main fighter with 10 levels of Assassination usually did 50-95 damage per attack with any decent weapon, and all Demonslayer did was add 20-30 when fighting demons. I mean, that's not much more than, say, the Ice Sword, which typically adds 5-15 when fighting almost anything and has almost the same base damage. AND it lets you equip a shield. I wanted it to be an uber-weapon, because it took so much effort, but there were stronger ones in most of the game. IIRC, it's more important in A2. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think I got by without using Demonslayer that much since I hated to use two-handed weapons.
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
If Demonslayer had been an uber weapon the original bearer of it would have survived.

Seconded. I prefer to have some kind of shield equipped with my weapon, even though it can be tough with my usual all-magic party.
