Tenderfoot Thahd Bremen
Is it possible to not use the geneforge in the beginning? I generally just play pure shapers with no canisters, and I'd like to keep that up if I can.
Chittering Clawbug Universe
I think you have to use the Geneforge.
Well-Actually War Trall Emperor Tullegolar
You have to, no choice. Without it, you're a nobody anyway. You're justification, no matter what your beliefs are, is probably that you use it to survive. Unless you're really insidious, and you're just using it to get close to them so you can betray them later, which is what I told myself. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Even though you've used the Geneforge, canisters will still have further effects on your mind, so you can still refrain from using them if you so choose. In fact, it's a very good idea not to use too many if you intend to work for the Shapers and you care about what ending you get.
Seasoned Roamer Abban
The only way to not use the geneforge is with cheats. Follow that idiot Pol(the servile) then go upstairs. Then type in shift+d and exitzone. BOOM, you right outside the southforge gates with the weird guy and his thahds.
Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
Everyone will treat you as though you used the Geneforge anyway, so it's not worth it.
Burgeoning Battle Gamma wary wanderer
If exitzoning out before using the geneforge actually lets you proceed without its unique benefits...then perhaps this actually could form the basis of some excellent masochism scenarios? Mistaken Identity: Everyone keeps thinking you're some sort of superhero, and trying to recruit or kill you. You go along with it, for the most part, just trying to survive. You don't actually know how to use pods, canisters, wands, etc. Cast spells? No way. And obviously making creations is just voodoo. Heck, even magic items would probably best be avoided. Stick with nice clothes (silk pantaloons, fine robes, etc). Sticks, daggers even, sure. But you have no idea how to throw a javelin, of course. Wait -- you think I can attack and kill things? Um, I doubt it. Training? What's that? Just how far could you take the case of mistaken identities in handicapping your un-geneforged persona? Ineffable Wingbolt Aequitas
No Geneforge usage? NGH.

That sounds like a challenge! I'm gonna do it, as a lifecrafter on torment! No creations, no magic, no canisters, and no training. Dear God, this is gonna suck. Kyshakk Koan Questionmarks.
I beat the game on "easy" wow,i'm a loser, lol. I will try it on the next difficulty level, though,i think i'll give this lifecrafter magic...to make him useful, the waiting at the endzone area while my creations walk the area got old,the creations eventually found me,i guess they sensed me... But yeah,i'll see what happens...
