Kyshakk Koan Nick Ringer
I need closure. Is it pronounced ... jeen' forj OR jeh' neh forj I just can't decide for myself and it's been bothering me since the original.
Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
The first of the two options. Two syllables, not three.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Also, Gene Wilder would appreciate it if you didn't call him Jenna Wilder.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
It's a compound word, so it should be pronounced like the words are when they are separate. Dikiyoba.
Unflappable Drayk John S
When I ordered Geneforge I over the phone, I still hadn't clued in on the whole "Gene" thing. I pronounced it "jeh' neh forj". I think it was either Linda or Mariann who took my order, and they were confused for several seconds. ...Yeah, I have absolutely nothing to contribute. The ambiguity is which words are being compounded: "gene" or "genetic." It's perfectly reasonable to think that "geneforge" is "genetic forge." Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
I suppose it all depends on perspective. For me, "gene forge" makes perfect sense and it would be nearly impossible to see the word in any other form. I was, however, caught by surprise to see that the Geneforge was in fact a physical object and not metaphorical the first time I played G1. Dikiyoba. Kyshakk Koan Nick Ringer
Thank you, Kelandon. Dikiyoba, that's twice today I saw you use the first person ...
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
So I used first person. I always use first person if there is more than one paragraph in my post, if I'm trying to say something serious, or I can't think of anything else to add. Dikiyoba's final paragraph is where Dikiyoba speaks in third-person. And it's more than third-person, since Dikiyoba never refers to Dikiyoba's self in any form other than "Dikiyoba." If Dikiyoba can't think of anything witty to say, Dikiyoba just signs Dikiyoba's name.
