Tenderfoot Thahd Nana Sarah
Just downloaded the demo, and I see there are bits of white fluff that fall down through the gameplay area. Snow? Mushroom spores? Tried it on two Win 7 machines, neither more than 2 years old, both with plenty of RAM & graphics processing, so I sorta don't think it's my machine. Just curious. Garrulous Glaahk Davies
I don't know what the technical term is, but I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be water, dropping from the cave ceilling. Avernum is pretty damp.
Easygoing Eyebeast Triumph
Not sure where you are, exactly...some places have magical sparkles, I think?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
I think Davies has it right - condensation dripping from the ceiling. Or it could be water seeping through from above; hence the stalagmites (and presumably the stalactites to match).
Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
Yes It's probably water, the opening pics too seem to suggest that, My only other guess would be dead fungus that lines the cave roof , that's highly unlikely but I just don't want to believe that the whole of avernum stays totally damp most of the time. Understated Ur-Drakon Callie
I was kind of hoping they were packaging peanuts. That way walking makes a little *crunch* sound.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
There are definitely water drip effects, but the original poster is referring to a different effect. You can actually see both if you wander around the Eastern Gallery near Fort Avernum. Dikiyoba just has to assume the white fuzzy effects are bits of glowing lichen knocked off by whatever small creepy-crawlies that call cave ceilings their home. Avernum is too warm for snow, and why would magic so consistently float straight down?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Oh, that. Radioactive bat guano, obviously.
Tenderfoot Thahd Nana Sarah
Ah. Yes, water drips makes sense. Thanks!
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
Radioactive bat guano, obviously.I certainly hope not. My theory is the bats have a serious case of dandruff. That, or it's so cold in some places that any condensation on the ceiling falls down as snow.
Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
Radioactive bat guano, obviously. Humm, now we know why our adventurers never have an affair with anybody. Aldous:-Will you marry me. Girl:-Go away, you smell like Bat poop. Edited November 4, 2012 by Jerakeen Family friendliness. Sorry, MS.
