Fledgling Fyora asfghn
Hi there! A little bit of background information: Like many of you, I started playing Spiderweb games when I was a wee sprog (my first game was Exile III, and it was actually my first RPG ever, before I knew what an RPG was)—I could just be overthinking this... Okay, so I've cleaned the wretches out of Zhethron's Aerie, and now it is time for me to go and speak with the dragon himself. I've finished the quest with Watcher Harissa, spoken to Keeper Ilhan, and done pretty much everything (I think?) is there for me to do... but the gates still won't open. Is there something I'm missing, or is this a glitch? I can't progress in the game until this gets figured out, which is pretty frustrating—must... have... more... Avadon. Hatchling Cockatrice Aoslare
Did you turn the wheel to open the gates?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You need to go into the guard rooms next to the gate and use the wheel control yourself. Also loot them while you have a chance before the guards get back. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. It makes summers in Arizona more pleasant. Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
[Edit: Woo, double-snipe!] The rooms with the gate wheels in them are unlocked after you complete the wretch removal for Watcher Harissa. You have to go in and turn one of the wheels to open a gate. Dikiyoba.
Fledgling Fyora asfghn
Hi everyone, thanks for all the answers! Regarding the wheels, whenever I click on them it just brings up my inventory. I was sure they resembled the sort of wheels that you would use to open doors or gates, etc, but all I get is the inventory/pickup screen. The same actually happens with signposts, too. I didn't think this used to be a problem until I got my new machine a couple days ago, which has Windows 7 when I had been running Windows XP, but I wasn't sure if it might just be because now I'm aware of/noticing the problem. Hatchling Cockatrice Aoslare
If that happens with all wheels and signposts, including in other save files, it sounds like you should re-download and re-install Avadon. Back up your save files first -- the good news is that they might not be the problem.
