Garrulous Glaahk Rionep Ecnirp Etlevs
Does it change the ending? Should I do it anyway to carry on with the rewards from G-well?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The reward for killing the Mayor is substantial and will let you get the other Gladwell rewards. I don't think it makes much difference to the ending. It does affect getting the quest from the priestess in Spire if you don't get the quest before doing Gladwell's quest. Kyshakk Koan Monroe
Also, if your planning on doing it at any point, don't make Spire hostile until you've done the quests that family from that inn in the Great Cave. You can, of course, do the mayor quest without making the town hostile, but I didn't, and now I can't complete a quest.
Magnificent Ornk Ephesos
Do the Arena first, too. The Arena is always fun.
Kyshakk Koan Monroe
Does anyone ever ask you to participate in the arena? I figured the guy in the audience might, but since I killed the Draysa in Fort Spire before she told me about that guy, I couldn't really speak to him at all. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
No the guy in the audience is just there for the quest information to send you to Bragha. You get the option if you talk to the ogre.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
The best thing to do is just not make Spire hostile, since you won't reasonably be able to win all of the arena combats until quite late in the game.
Chittering Clawbug Khyryk Eye
But how DO you do the quest without making Spire hostile? Every time I check the entrance to the mayor's chambers, there's always a guard there.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
There are two ways. One is to wait until the guard leaves which may take a while. The second is to go through the TU 14 door along the south side of the building. If you don't have enough tool use than use a Tinker's crystal. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Make sure your Tool Use character is the one who uses the Tinker's Crystal from his/her inventory, by the way. It's more effective that way.
Chittering Clawbug Khyryk Eye
Wow, that was easy. I was all set to slip through the back door and forgot about the front entrance. Thanks!
