  1. I'd like to try it out: realitymaniac@yahoo.com
  2. I don't mind drinking a little alcohol now and then just because it's good for you...but otherwise I tend to stay away from it. Of course, in Avernum, it's always fun to get drunk right before a major battle and try to escape moderatly alive afterwards.

Actually, it might have been an Exile game with curses, I don't remember. The Rakshasa in the town of Erox, NW part of Valorim.
  4. 16-bit here might not have anything to do with the monitor but the processor, instead. Most processors nowadays use 32-bit (some 64) so there might be a conflict between that...consequently, what is your processor model? And also, do you happen to have the latest version of Exile 3?
  5. I'm thinking that this is more of a A1/A2 thing...yes it is in A1 somewhat west of Fort Avernum.
  6. BoA Appendices -> Second to last section -> "Cutscene Calls"
  7. For further clarification, the machine in the NW corner has the purpose of aligning the runes in the small building so that you can cross the room on those runes safely and meet Elhioc on the other side. It has no tangible connection to the barrier in any way.

Quote: Originally written by Canadian Pilot: hey guys, for some reason it's not working, here is what I do: I unzip it, and then a Blades of Avernum editor FOLDER is there in the Data folder, and if I try to move the just the Boa editor onto the data folder it just makes a shortcut, and it still dose not work, oh and if I try to play the editor, it says the thing above and that there is a error, and it can't find worrer's grove thing(I don't think that matters enyway)and so ya.(this sucks) From what I'm getting, you unzip the files into a temporary directory, but when you try to move the EXE itself, you only get a shortcut icon. In that case, right-click on the BoAEditor.EXE that was unzipped and click copy. Then, go to the data Folder in your BoA Folder, right-click on an empty space and choose Paste. If it still does a shortcut icon, then you either chose to copy the shortcut icon or your computer is acting up.

How To Install the Editor First, you need a copy of Blades of Avernum. It can be the demo or the full version. However, you can't play scenario you make unless Blades of Avernum is registered. Second, copy the Blades of Avernum Editor application into the folder "Data" in the main Blades of Avernum folder. DON'T put the editor in a sub-folder. Just place the Editor application (by itself) in the Data folder. There! You're done! As you were saying? In caps, might I mention.
  10. Yes, just unzip the EXE by itself to the data folder and you'll be fine. Edit: Aiyee! Spelling mistake.

That could mean trouble when debugging code for BoA. I am GremlinChief but I am not Overwhelming, nor do I want to be. And the link for ConText gets me a busy page, I think. I'll try back later. Edit: Actually, the domain in itself has changed. It's now http://www.context.cx/
  12. Oh great, I sense a major flame war over Erika. Put on your cooling amulets while you can.
  13. Question answered many times. When you download and unzip the editor files, take ONLY the BoAEditor.EXE file and put it in your BoA data folder. So if you access the editor, it'll be C:\Program Files\Blades of Avernum\Data\{EDITOR.EXE} That's on a Windows platform...not sure where to place it on a Mac.
  14. Make sure you only put the Blades of Avernum Editor program into the BoA directory, not the whole downloaded folder itself.

But then someone named... ***GREMLINCHIEF***(Won't put their real forum-name down) showed me the URL for Crimson editor. Mostly everybody knows that I have/had an identity of GremlinChief. I don't see the real reason to hide my forum name especially since I was the one who brought that link to Spiderweb in the first place. Differences between the two programs: Programmer's Notepad Download size: 1,682,264 bytes Built in color-code syntax type schemes: 12 It can also switch to be a hex-editor...? But I found no way to switch from Carriage Returns to Line Feeds or vice versa. That could mean trouble when debugging code for BoA. Crimson Editor Download size: 1,159,660 bytes Built in color-code syntax type schemes: 17 Has a built in FTP program Can switch from CR to LF to both. Mostly all other features are the same, Crimson having some more advanced tools for programming. EDIT: For some reason, PN has a built in clock...why would one need a clock if there's one on the taskbar?
  16. I'll gladly test. realitymaniac@yahoo.com You can send it with a .sit or .zip, doesn't matter since I can open both.
  17. I'm guessing a cave somewhat SW of the town...I believe the guy in the audience should have told you about it.
  18. This is an excellent tool and a great time saver. Thanks!
  19. By the way, are the docs in any other format besides .PDF right now? EDIT: it is PDF, thanks.
  20. I managed to smush it into 15 pages using barely any spaces, small font, and two sides. Hey, if I can read it, it works!
  21. Warps your mind and genetic code...nuf' said. And it looks like somebody does not like Alec too much around here...
  22. Sure, I'm free at the moment...somewhat. Email: realitycorp@gmail.com
  23. Look down a few topics below and use the search engine if needed.
  24. First go talk to the baker in Fort Brakley. He will tell you to head down through a tunnel which leads to McKinley's brother who, in return for a small favor, will tell you to visit the person who sells Hawkes Manse. Head on over there to talk to him and he will tell you to go find FireFox. She will sell you the location for some gold. Then head on over to Fort Brakley again and steal the baker's bread. Use it as a key to open up the monastary in the SE corner of Valorim.
