Just stumbled onto a Guarded Tunnel next to Blackcrag fortress. I'm assuming this is the tunnel the thieve's guild in Lorelei was selling a password to? Anything I missed out on by just slaughtering everyone inside?

Some soldiers in the Squiggus area attacked me (due to having a Nephil in the party) on sight... and now the entire town is hostile. Any way to fix that, or are Squiggus and Lennus now a lost cause?

I cleared out the Spiral Crypt just before undertaking separate contracts for a Zombie and Skeleton. Been looking ever since. The vamp tower and the area around it was full of wights, ghosts, and skeleton types, but no actual humble skelly's or zombies. Edit - literally the moment I typed this and went back to the game, I had a random encounter with a single skeleton. Woot. Now to find a zombie. Editx2 - "Alakas Colony" (south of Calloc) has a guaranteed Eyebeasts + regular Skeleton spawn.

What does Dark Thoughts do, if anything?

That's a word-salady way to claim that if you hand in 50 bags of meal, the quest isn't over and you have a chance to hand it however many bags of meal you pick up later - but once you do, whether it's one bag or however many, the quest ends? Yeah, I checked, and it ends once you deliver 50 bags of meal. 49 is the cut off point, after which one more (or however many more) ends the quest. I can record a video of to support my claim, though anyone can check for themselves.

So if you kill the Troglo king without ever talking to him, the game just doesn't recognize what happened and you're stuck? The mayor thinks I'm still on a mission to talk to the king.

I got some minuscule amount of exp from sanctifying the Goblin altar. Also, just checked the Bag of Meal quest, and it ends at 50, not 51. I assume the same is true for other similar quests.

The Triad Area barrier in the Tower of Magi is definitely level 3. BTW, I think Carrie's hint about the location of her reward is a touch unclear, and could stand being clarified in the guide. I had absolutely no idea what "second tier store room" meant. Also, it would be nice if the guide included evil altars that can / should be sanctified. There's one in the Goblin Lair, Agate Tower,

So the game doesn't make any allowance for ferrymen getting killed in monster attacks - I just have to reload a save or never go to the ferry destination? Seems pretty dumb, particularly since some ferries just take the cash as you get on the boat.

Notes: You can actually use the energizing box in Portal Fortress twice. Just ask Kelner to reset it. Shayder Sewers SE - Move Mountains reveals a ruby and mandrake root. Also, you have Shayder listed as Shaydar? And Nature Lore as Cave Lore?

Is there a point of diminishing returns on stat increases / weapon skills? At which point should I stop investing in the main stat for each character / main weapon skill?

For some reason, I can't place anything in my quick use slots. No idea why, because I could just a while ago. No error messages.

Took a courier job - delivering grain from Krizsan to Delan in a single day. I'm pretty sure it didn't take me a day to get there, but every time I get to Delan, the job is no longer in my journal and I have no dialog options with the innkeeper. Edit - "single day" means "you have until the next day starts" rather than "yo have 24 hours". Amazingly stupid.

Bronze Bracers. Value 40, 4 lbs, armor 6%, -5% to hit, 2% to evade. Iron Gauntlets. Value 50. 4 lbs, armor 6%, -5% to hit. No 2% to evade, despite being more expensive. Just for comparison, Iron Bracers have the same stats as above, except value 150, armor 8%, -10% to hit. So +2% to armor and -5% to hit apparently means the item is worth 300% more.

How do I see my x,y position in the world? I was sure there was a way to see exactly where you are as far as the game engine is concerned, but I can't seem to google it. Also, how do I screencap the game on steam without the spell list popping up to block the screen?

Was / is there a way to do anything with the altar in the goblin cave? Stupid question, but how do I make the trainer at Fort Emergent switch to teaching skills rather than spells?

Playing through Avernum 3 (the remake, obviously). As usual, I have a bunch of misc questions - thought I might make a thread instead of spamming in different relevant topics. 1. A number of weapons / armor seem to be worse in every way than the other weapons / armor, despite being worth more for example, Ash Bow and Crude Bow, or Bronze Bracers and Iron Gauntlets. Am I missing something? 2. Was there any benefit whatsoever to agreeing to let the bandit chief (first quest, south of Fort Emergence) go? Feel free to use spoilers. 3. Keeping in mind that I welcome spoilers - what's a good early game weapon / armor to get blessed at Portal Fortress?

Final question - did Jeff ever hint what he was trying to say with Avadon 3? Whatever it is, it seems hopelessly muddled.

I'm finishing the game right now, and I still have no idea what " Give Potion of Disguise, Scroll: Freezing Bolts, Assault Crystal, Shard of the Phoenix, Potion of Battle, Scroll: Resurrection, Elixir of Speed, and Drake Skin to a secondary character before visiting Avadon for the first time." is all about?

I faced down Velusa (to the point where he asked to back off) and apparently this isn't enough for the healer lady at fort forsight? She claimed I didn't need to kill him. Is there a point of diminishing returns for stat investment? Is a warrior with 25 / 25 in STR and DEX at a major disadvantage compared to someone with 38 in either of those? Should I start investing in END (for example) after hitting 30 in the class relevant stat?

Am I missing something about the Temple of Velusa, or do you HAVE to fight if you want the invitation? PS - Velusa is way easier than the dragon, even on Hard.
