  1. Hmm, now that I think of it, most of the RPGs I've played have been on consoles. That must be where I am getting that idea from.

Ya, now that I think of it, the Geneforge series doesn't seem to keep track of how many hours you've put into the game. The saves just tell you what day and time was saved last. Most RPGs usually keep a running count for you to show off. Hmm, I guess show off right?

Ah yes, I recall the game saying something about that. I believe it mentioned something about getting no exp at all for killing weak enemies once I am a high level. We need a MOD made where I can get at least 1 exp...that would make more sense to me.
  5. Yea, I suppose I could of placed this in the Geneforge section... Good point Sarachim about your not actually wasting your time if your enjoying yourself. Yea, only 8 hours so far Velzan. Trust me, this is only the beginning.
  6. Hello, I'm curious to know how many hours you long time veterans of Geneforge have put into all 5 games? How many hours of your lives have been sucked away by these addicting time consuming monsters? Me? Well, I just started playing all 5 games at ONCE, and I'd say that I've given them all at least 8 hours between the 5 of them.
  7. The trick to survival in this game as a solo agent that I play as in all geneforge games, is to change your weapons depending on the enemy you are fighting. I've found that certain enemies are easier to hit and kill faster with one weapon over another. This is pretty common with most RPGs like this.
  8. I'm doing the same thing, a solo agent in Genforge 1. I am doing this simply because I am exp greedy and I want it all for myself. I also don't like losing my essence at this early level that I am at and not being able to heal and such as much. So far, I am doing alright. Lots of skill points going into leadership, mechanics, missle weapons, endurance, and dexterity. Good idea about killing the cows. Does that not affect people's opinion of me though?
  9. I also enjoy the depth and time these games need. It takes a long time to thoughly explore a new area, and I agree, play sessions can be quite long compared to other games. Based on what I've heard and seen, Torchlight seems to be more of an arcade style RPG. Maybe even comparable to Gauntlet?
  10. I suppose if your charater did start to glow more and more after downing those canisters, you'd be a bright neon green glow stick at the end of the game.
  11. A remake of Genforge as far ahead as 2015? That might be a little late...but I'll try to remember that.

Also, Logan, you should look around, you may be surprised with the number of "patches" that are available to you here. Someone did some unofficial patches for Arcanum, another game similar to these ones. (PC style RPG) They gave you more resolution options, high res images, new images, etc. and they have updated this patch many times over the years. I have looked around for patches on this website, and the patches are nothing like what I am looking for... Unless I'm missing something? Either way, It would be great if someone worked on a patch like this and helped bring these games into modern times.
  14. Well, to each his own. I can do without the music, but It really helps me get into the game if it's got good sound effects and ambience. I'm glad to see that Geneforge 4 improved greatly over the previous games in regards to this, I've yet to try Geneforge 5... Edit: Well I've played all 5 Geneforge games now and the 4th and 5th in the series have great atmospheric audio and sound effects. This is exactly what I was looking for when I complained earlier. 1-3 are obviously on a lower scale of audio quality.
  15. This game is one of many many games I would like to play before I die. There is not enough time on this earth for an RPG gamer.
  16. Thanks for the tip. I just started playing so I havn't been there yet, but I'll keep it in mind when I am.
  17. Is this an actual change to the way your character looks or is it just something the NPCs see?

  19. Speaking of this item, I just found it recently and left it on the floor. It sounds useful so I figure I'll leave it there until I need it.

  22. Are you in a way, making an unoffical patch? Have you considering doing anything with Geneforge 2? That's the one I'm playing right now
  23. Does anyone know of any unoffical patches and MODs being developed for the Geneforge series? I'd love to see some patches that offer higher resolution options, added music or sound effects, enhanced graphics etc.
