Okay, I'm almost to the end - but am stuck again. Dang it all. I have cleaned out the Lost Dera Vault. I let the Eyebeast in the north go and killed the one in the south. The problem is that I cannot find the key that will let me access the Inner Vault. I have scoured the entire area, but without luck. Any ideas?

I am having a terrible time finding Dinara's Claim. Matt P's walkthrough doesn't mention it. Randomizer says it is in the NW part of the Storm Plains. The over-all map shows a cave NE of the Podling Crossroads, so I assume that is the location. But, I can't find a way to access the entrance. What am I missing?

I am currently looking at some gloves that are enchanted with "Vampiric Touch." Does anyone know exactly what that means? For example, I am an Agent who normally uses Magic as my weapon. Does VT only work with melee items? I assume it is only effective on living creatures........

I don't seem to be getting "the ending." I'm Unaligned and I've have killed Barzahl plus the three Taker leaders. I've destroyed the Geneforge. I've pretty much cleared out Inner Ghazak-Uss. Do I have to take out Syros too? Can't figure out that there is anything left to do, but I would like to get some sort of end scene. Any ideas?

This turned out to be an interesting problem to solve. First I tried "clearallsects", but when I entered Zhass-Uss I still got the message that they hated me because I was in a different sect. Then I tried "pleaselikeme" and it worked. I have no idea what I did to tick the city off in the first place, so I don't feel too bad about using a cheat code to cure the problem. Especially since the game gave me one message and the problem was something completely different! Thank you so much for your help.

Since I didn't ever knowingly join a faction, I wonder if I could have killed the wrong person at some point. I talked to Learned Darian and went so far as to say I would renounce supporting the shapers. I also went to Zhass-Uss and asked them to "pleaseforgiveme." Nothing worked.

I'm trying to get into Zhass-Uss but the town is hostile because I've joined another faction. Well, I never knowingly did any such thing. Is there any way to go back to being unaligned without loosing a week's worth of play?

Well, I'm pretty much done debriefing my play-through and have one final question. What is the deal with the self-replicating brick walls? I hauled those darn things all over heck and back. And, as far as I can figure out, they are useless. I didn't fight with Redbeard at the end, so that is the only place I can think of where they might have been used that I didn't know about. What was the deal on those things? Did I miss something?

Maybe you could kill that certain dragon - I actually had tried, but it didn't work out so well. Maybe if I had gone back after leveling up it would have been possible. Thanks so much!

Okay, I'm done with Avadon and have to say it was very well done. It's easy to immerse yourself in the game because the graphics feel up to date. Big improvement over Avernum in that sense. Also, I think the moral choices are challenging and interesting. Side comment - after reading about the grinding battle required to take out Redbeard I have decided to show mercy and let him live. Main question - in checking my unfinished quests I discovered that I never found a dragon's tooth. Where was it?

I would like to replay the ending and try to kill Redbeard. I read the previous postings about the battle, and they talked about the two switches in the room and how important Nathalie was. What I don't get is how to get Nathalie (or anyone) in position to touch the switches. What am I missing?

I went to find Nathalie in the Beraza Pits, and I found the letter she left for me. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by the outside world and cannot remember the contents of the letter she left me. Where do I have to go to find her and the Drake?

I'm having a problem finding the tower also. I chased MK into the basement in his ring and confronted him. But, I don't get his map as an option. It seems to be a separate map that I don't have. During our discussion he said he would surprise me with some creations and then he disappeared. Did I take the wrong option?

I am coming at Avernum V backwards, having started the series with Avernum VI. My question involves Hidden Switches working differently in the two games. In VI you see a switch, you click on it, and the door opens somewhere. In V I have run into several switches that I can't get to activate. Do I need something like high tool use to get them to work, or are they just there to frustrate me?

I am having trouble getting into Grayfang's lair. When I enter the room after the first portculis I am totally stuck. I cannot get the wheel to turn so I can continue on to the next room. Then, of course, I drown. My first thought was that my group wasn't strong enough, so I went away for a while and buffed up to no avail. I have searched high and low for some sort of key that will get the wheel to turn, but I can't find anything that might help. Help!
