  1. have you tried shiftD pleaselikeme and then talk to Kingsley?
  2. You can also enter at Corrado's claim if you havn't been to Shafir's basement or Giants spire yet.
  3. You can come out of his tower by those tunnels, but the gates will not open from the spire entrance. Can't you retrace your steps and come back out at Corrado's claim? You talked to scarhead and done the pole of suffering, right? He should then let you pass.
  4. I loved this one - a scenario that forces you to fight on the run. It actually ended up being rather easy (after reloading it a few times) as long as noone got stuck behind and slowed by a nearby enemy, and as long as the other zombies (ferget exactly what they were) don't get blocked and so run around the other way to get in front of you.
  5. Ah, the return of the lovable Doomguard. Which version of Avernum were they all over the place? There is a hint in an upper level of this room that tells you to hit him hard and fast early on.
  6. I'd love to make notes or x's on the map so I could remember where the spots were I wanted to revisit later in the game. Also an addition to the record button that would be map specific.
  7. Ah, the Howling Depths. Seems so long ago! I must've missed Tholmen's plea for life amidst all the carnage. (Or I liked the boots he was wearing too much to care.) So now the big choice of life - who to kill; Ruth or Solberg Is it worth fooling Dorikas into thinking I want to join him - as I've tried to angle all my encounters that way, and the Solberg fight would be quite an adventure. Or maybe, since I can't get Tholmen's training anyway (jeesh, one mistake and your whole plan goes awry) I should just go after the Big Guy's bad asp and plow thru anyone who stands in my way. I guess that was the original intent of this mission. Life was so simple on the surface!
  8. Is that my only choice left? With the resultant fury over showing the papers to him, then Ruth wouln't ask for the papers cause I've already proved myself? I was gonna let him live, cause I liked the crazy old geezer. I think I've let all the DL's I've met go back to Dorikas including the spy, and I thought that was going to be good enough to convince Ruth I don't want to tip my hand to Ruth yet, but I'd like to have a few treats left for Mel too.
  9. Since I've already handed over the Anama papers to Gladwell. is there any point in saving Solberg's papers for Melanchion instead of bribing Ruth with them? I mean, is there any gain in giving the Melanchion two of the three items he wants, or is he an all or nothing kinda character? Also, When I hand these items of power over, does it make that character stronger? If Dorikas gets these papers is he harder to defeat? I purposely did in Gladwell without giving him the crystal thinking that his destruction would be an easier matter if he did not have that power. Did it really make any difference? It seems to me that it should.
  10. Corusca-Eye and Greldyan at the Lake of Trials are two good ones for the moral question. I like them both. Are the spoils of war tempting enough to do in these fine specimens? Or have I aquired enough nature lore to respect their existence? The ability to mine those dern treasure pits have no doubt made my warriers way too sensitive for such mindless slaughter! oops, just traveled a little further - I take that back about Corusca
  11. The ladder was nicely hidden. but I got it even before I found what the u key was for. The spire lift was right in front of my face, but I guess getting pelted by all those rocks distracted me and I went every other which way. But it's good to wander the gallery before trying that one anyway, so it all worked out. Thanks for your helps.
  12. I've found myself justifying my theiving tendancies with the thought that these poor folks will never use the few potions in this chest anyway, and it's all going to a good cause. But, yea, I've considered the fact that my characters, honorable as they may be, are not to be trusted with personal property. Personally, I'd rather see a diversfied assortment of life out there - keeps all the balances right. But I'm not so sure I would be happy that my neighbors were raising something vicious that might chomp on me one day. It's not extermination, is it? Well, maybe for the giants it will be. But they're all crazy anyway, so can't I justify my ridding the land of them that way? So maybe morals are based on the expediency of what needs to get done to attain your goals. Fortunatley I have too much empathy to live like that in real life. But it's one of the nice reasons to be able to role play
  13. Just did that one myself. After ya thrash the half dozen or so skeletons, walk a bit near the SE corner. I got a "you hear rumbling behind the walls" warning, and a few steps later it pops out.
  14. Ah yes. Past the enemies. Turns out that by the time I reached the ledge all the enemies were toast anyway, The slimes slowed me down so much that I had to stand and fight. Thank the godesses for Prismatic shield! Shafrir is the one area of this gallery I've yet to explore. And you say there's a link to the Spire from way over there? Did I waste my coins on the Hightground Barkeep's rumors that Corrado's mine west of the river had an entrance? That led me to Scarhead who let me past to see the Queen..........oooooh, there's the lift I missed a few times in his room. I may have just answered that question. Speaking of Barkeep rumors(sorry to change the topic, but while I have your ear...), am I deducting correctly that only one of them is not discoverable without payment?
  15. I'd love to get on the upper ledge (with 2 magic barriers) inside this cave and watch all the hostile fungi ignite without me in the middle. Anyone remember the entrance spot to this ledge? (Would it be from the tunnels leading to the Giant Spire - as I havn't found the right mine for that yet.) And there is another trapdoor west of this garden (between outpost3 and the brigand camp) surrounded by trees and bushes. I suppose one gets to the nearby treasure pit by comming out the trapdoor, but again, this network of tunnels evades me. I've traveled to Muck and back a few times, but could now sure use an experienced spelunker to point me to the right hole to climb down for these two spots
