Tal, you make it sound like playing as a guardian is a bad thing. Why?
Guardians can be very fun and effective, but they don't fit his strategy well. Except for the HP bonus, of course. But with a good creation army, you don't die very often anyway. -
My youngest brother is obsessed with any game I like, so of course he plays Geneforge a lot. True, most of it is over his head, but he likes the creations. He always plays as a Guardian, though.

The Trakovites, in a way, have lots of power. -

I have more of a chance than you, meaning you wont be fed that position. -
Some of the mentioned sects have no chance whatsoever (think Awakened). In my opinion, its more or less a tie between "new Shapers" and Drakon Rebels. Even though the Unbound make the Drakons most powerful in practice, it's only because the Shapers are extremely reluctant to perform Monarch-style Shaping (as in the Titan).
Edit: You should have included Barzites.
-
Shaping is too good to discard, but it's also easy to abuse. Therefore, it needs strict regulation by wise, stable people. Loyalism in a nutshell.
-
Cast mental barrier before talking to him if you are using creations, especially if you are a shaper. It will save your life.

The only way to avoid all of those from happening is to either limit shaping incredibly, or to get rid shaping completely. -
I think Trakovites are all very nice, but... why? Why an association devoted to it? I have to agree with Goldenking on this one.
By the way, why are Trakovites called Trakovites? I thought Trajkov was more of a proto-Barzite...

You need the Pure Crystal Shard, too. Read the walkthrough carefully, it's a little confusing.
Your other dilemma could be tricky, but if you act like a fanatical Shaper for a while it should resolve quickly. Of course, that depends how rebel-friendly your opinions are at the moment.

In G1 I ended with 20 points of luck. Since each point is 1% boost to all kinds of things, it really adds up.
I don't usually do that, though.
-
Shapers: A few dangerous races disappear. Cruel, perhaps, but clearly the lesser of two evils.
Rebels: Those few races do OK, but everyone and everything else gets ripped apart by crazy Unbound.
Conclusion: The Shapers may not be the best government possible, but it should be clear why I favor loyalism.

Mass-energize absolutely owns with Unstable Firebolts. Very fun combo.

I suggest saving Reviving Crystals (on weapon), Steel Spines (on anything), and Golden Crystals (armor is best) until you get things you plan to keep for a long time. Anything else is easily replaced.
Also, you won't get any greaves better than Essence Vambraces until the last island, so don't put a low quality enhancement on them like I did. You can buy another pair from Sciolino in Dhonal's Keep if you mess up, fortunately (and find more somewhere else, I forget where).

BTW, Taliesin, your name is in Spell-Check! -
I'm beginning to like the Awakened more and more. But when it comes to "reality," I'm a through-and-through loyalist. The kind that would declare a truce with the Awakened, of course.
-
That's actually quite amusing.

Nice lifecrafter robe. I want one just like it.
-
It would be nice if I could select more than one. Like "Mostly Shaper, mostly Awakened." If that makes sense.
Add: I prefer mutual obligations - Shapers treat creations well, creations respond by serving willingly. If only that could work.
-
Honestly, why did you ask the mod question?
-
By the way, why are war tralls only from canisters? I thought they were a new Shaper creation.
-
If you're only trying to avoid bad canister effects, you might try just one wingbolt canister to get unstable firebolts. They have a half-life, but they have extra AP, a fire attack, and the magic resistance of a wingbolt, making them amazingly useful (especially against wingbolts). You could also take a drayk canister if you want, but it's your choice.
Edit: I'm not sure exactly how many canisters it takes to be adversely affected, but I know you can use at least six safely.
-
Many secondary creations in G4 are unstable, due to crazy lifecrafter techniques that previously just weren't around. The only unstable creation I really like having available is the unstable firebolt (upgrade of wingbolt).

Um... cool? Don't see why it should be necessarily that helpful, but one might find a use for such knowledge. You could also back up old games in a special directory, for better preservation.
