  1. IMO stands for "in my opinion." Standard text-messaging-speak.

  3. Sounds just like my loyalist Shocktrooper. Shaper Trueweave is my favorite armor for any of my characters, especially because it only weighs 2 pounds. Ha!
  4. My first lifecrafter cast aura of flames non-stop throughout the whole last battle in the Inner Shaping Hall. Oh, and lets not forget his pet eyebeasts! And all those friendly drakons. All in all, those Shapers got pretty scorched. However, this kind of thing doesn't usually work, since it leaves the lifecrafter very vulnerable to attack. I suggest more of a blessing magic focus.
  5. Heck, if I was a millionaire game coder I would keep going. It's fun! Even though I'm a total beginner.
  6. Yeah, I was a little surprised to see that in a Spiderweb game. No wonder Oliver (A4) said what he did about Avernite women...
  7. Destroying towns is only fun when they're really hard, such as Porphyra if you're a rebel. That's what I call an enjoyable challenge. Mass murder of defenseless townspeople, on the other hand, is quite pointless.
  8. Neither my lifecrafter nor my shocktrooper ran up against this level limit because their creations slowed down their XP gain. Some ways of getting more experience are using fewer creations (or choose a solo character), never asking people to help you kill things (they can steal a lot of XP), and using living tools rather than Unlock. In G4 there are plenty of living tools to go around if you don't use them on doors that have keys, like the one storage room in Southforge.
  9. Seriously, romance doesn't have to be bad. War is a difficult situation for love, though. But it would be kind of intriguing. Remember the little room in Khyryk's Tower in G3 where you find out something rather romantic about his previous life? I want to know more on that.
  10. As a lifecrafter, I use very little mental magic, but some spells (mental barrier, unlock, dominate/charm) are extremely helpful once in a while. Despite its sheer awesomeness, I have never cast mass madness with any character in any Geneforge game, because you can always find more than enough madness gems for those situations.
  11. I like Lifecrafter best, but Shocktrooper is great if you've played "missile Guardians" in the past. Serviles can become virtually indestructible characters if you get lots of shielding spells (steel skin, essence shield/armor, augmentation, elemental cloak, etc.) And now that you can attack even with only 1 AP left, melee characters have a new edge.
  12. Actually, I'm reading Song of Albion right now. How come I didn't know about the new series?!? I need to check that out! Of all the Pendragon Cycle characters, Merlin is my favorite because I can really identify with his personality. Taliesin is a cooler name though.
  13. If you keep all Mech-increasing items and pick up all three servile techs, you should only need 10 Mechanics for even the hardest traps. Also, it saves a LOT of living tools in the fens if you always have techs with you.

  15. Radiance is bonus damage that applies when you're fighting Undead, such as shades. Vampiric Touch raises your chance of draining some life from your target when you use weapons, even wands. As such, it is most useful for warriors/serviles/shocktroopers. Addition: If you already use a life-stealing sword, Vampiric Touch is THE thing to have.
  16. The canister triggered for me too, but fortunately I didn't kill Lankan. However, I killed some guards on the way out, which got me some nice experience, and didn't anger anyone. Geneforge 3 is certainly more black and white then G4. However, this is good news for people who like to play as a purist. Unlike G4, there is little incentive to be a double agent, so to speak. And you never have to do anything brutal as a loyalist. Sure, you wipe out a town or two eventually, but they put up quite a fight. However, I did not slaughter the defenseless servile mushroom farmers who provide food for the rebellion. All they do is walk around working and saying cute things like "Yummy shrooms!" Fortunately, no one told me to purge them, so I escaped Litalia's dilemma.
  17. Sweet. I thought I had seen that link somewhere before, but I couldn't remember where. Thanks! Since my "real name" is Taliesin (a druid), I figured I might as well play Nethergate. *jumps* What are those voices? Could they be from the Otherworld???
  18. I am planning to play Nethergate:Resurrection as a singleton Celt. However, I have never played Nethergate before. Any tips on what to focus on at first?

On my last complete playthrough, I had Wildfyre the fyora, Frostbyte the cryoa, Foamy the roamer, Fyrestorm the drayk, Blyzzard the cryodrayk, Lyghtning the kyshakk, and Global Warming the drakon. Dikiyoba only chose Global Warming because Dikiyoba was at a loss for another name that fit the pattern. Any suggestions? Global wyrming. Hahahahaha! That's a good one. My pet drakon is now named Global Wyrming. Thanks, SoT!
  20. Quote: Originally written by Azarr: Sometimes, if they were created to destroy some specific enemy I give them a name. For instance, I shaped some rotghroth and named them Golem Slayers once. Then I rampaged and killed eleven golems in about ten minutes. But that was in Geneforge 3.
  21. Well, that depends. The knife is Tek's Spectral Dirk, which provides great damage protection and resistances. It doesn't deal a whole lot of punishment though - it's really a defense weapon. My first G4 character already had the puresteel soulblade by the time he got back there, so I never used the Dirk.
  22. True - elemental cloak would probably do just fine.
  23. Especially look for the one in Northforge, as you will need it to access the Black Key that Litalia stole from Monarch.
  24. i never capitalize anything generally. but if it annoys ppl (haha)... I mean, I don't want to annoy people.
