  1. For a guardian on torment in G3, should you invest in quick action and parry. I wanted to try a guardian, but I'm used to agents and shapers.
  2. Oh, well. I just ended up killing her. I got a good shield out of it.
  3. I was just replaying G3 (no canister loyalist), and I convinced Litilia (not bothering checking the name) that she should let me get killed by Blaze instead of by her. After I exit from the conversation and begin to move on she shouts at me and attacks me. I have the latest patch and am wondering what this is all about?
  4. Agents really do NOT need either one (or at least the way I play one torment). I do a lot of hit and run including a lot of hiding from some monsters while attracting others. Having either one would be a liablility to attract more monsters. The only time I ever had these two with my current agent was to absorb some damage when I killed the mage on the first island who was trying to learn shaping (no canister loyalist).
  5. Thanks for the advice though I had figured the combat mode thing out by myself and am now on the third island. I guess now I just need to seek out some good equipment.
  6. What about the argument for using neither? I mean, they act as creations which means they can suck up exp that you may need. Am I missing something here?
  7. I don't see why people like A3 better than A1. A3 was good, but I was just a little let down by it. I mean you finally get to go to the surface and this is what you have to deal with? It was fun for me but I much prefered the feeling of A1 where you are the original adventurer heroes and you get to pioneer a war against the empire. I was kinda let down to here that your party went away before A2 even though it was necesary for the plot. But my party would have stayed and slew all the empire soldiers they could.
  8. Right now I'm on the second island with my no canister loyalist and he has some trouble with the vlish because they act before him and the one hit and then poison kill him. A question I have for you is how did you get your action points so high?
  9. So since a guardian is not so affected by canisters, is there an efficient way to play a melee guardian?
  10. How can you be truly the most effective you can be if you don't use canisters? All the most powerful creations and spells come from canisters, so how do you overcome this (I'm talking torment difficulty G3 here). I'm mostly talking about Agent and Shaper here since they are the most greatly affected here.
  11. Gee, I was the only one to vote for Avernum 1 so far. I liked it because it was so fresh and had the strongest plot.
  12. Actually, if you actually do it out statistically the chances of it happening are .00000000000000000000009334722% of that happening by pure chance (thank you AP stats).
  13. I, personally, like to have my guy go a little mad with power after using every single canister that he can get his hands on even if it isn't relative to his build. Those of the Shapers are afraid of true power!
  14. I don't know, mabey Genoforge will be similar to Nethergate in the way that you could pick your *initial side* and mabey have multiple endings for both sides.
  15. That wouldn't work at all, those of Gnass would probably just get slaughtered by a darkling force wishing to reclame the cave. The Gnass sliths seem to have good fighters but are small in numbers.
  16. There is no good answer, last time I played through I killed them so that the chief would come out and fight me along with his possy. Also, I be that the sliths in the eggs would be darklings because of their tribe being killed by humans...
  17. Gee, sorry my typing error brought about such comments
  18. As someone mentioned earlier, a weakness of the Avernum series is that the ncp's don't seem to react to much in their conversations. I would like to see ncp's react to what they have heard of your deeds. Also, I beleive that the engine run for the first 3 of the series was much better than the one run for the fourth game. I didn't even make it through half an hour with the new engine.
  19. Warning: This idea is suited for BoA and I didn't play through A4. I like the idea of the Slith homeland as the playing area, but that they are the peaceful society (or at least basically good as described in the hints of the Avernum trilogy) and that the humans and other species that found a way in are the "barbarian invaders." A role reverse is good every once in a while Though I would mainly want to see this for the purpose of exploring their homeland.
