Might I suggest memory cells usage? I haven't really followed what you're doing, but if you have ten or fewer coordinates that you're feeding each script, you only have to write one.

EDIT: And a quick skim shows me that you're already using some memory cells, although not, as far as I can tell, very many. Eh.
  2. Well, Erika's an obvious choice. I chose Patrick because I like that his tower is a center for magical (and quasi-scientific) inquiry.

Of all the Exiles, though — or Avernites, really, seeing as how I never played the Exile Trilogy — I like Rita (the researcher in Patrick's Tower), Elspeth (of Cotra in A1 and I forget where in A2), and, well, can't think of others right now, but a few others. Probably at least one in Dharmon (head priest of that temple, maybe) and one in the Formello region, a smith up in that fort, maybe.

  3. May I take this moment to ask, yet again, WHY THE BLOODY HELL IS VAHNATAI HARD FOR YOU TO SPELL? VAH-NA-TAI. IT'S VERY SIMPLE, YET SOMEHOW IT GOES OVER YOUR HEAD. VAHNATAI. VAHNATAI. V-A-H-N-A-T-A-I. NOT VAHANTI, NOT VAHANATAI, NOT VANHANTI, BUT VAHNATAI.

Sorry. It just pains my eyes greatly to see this.

  4. Okay, more detailed report. Any floor or terrain (but not height adjustment) I place in 3D mode erratically gets placed both where I clicked and approximately six squares west and one square up from where I clicked. This location is not completely consistent, though.

This seems to happen with any scenario that I open. I made a new scen with the 3D editor and it still happens.

I am using Mac OS 10.2, 3D Editor v0.12b2. It seems to happen at any resolution or number of colors.

  5. As always, my information comes from Avernum, not Exile, but it should be the same.

You can get to some Empire lands via boat by going west from Fort Dranlon and then north from the next outdoor section over. Proceed west from there (with a proper pass, I believe) and you can reach Harston and some other Empire-controlled areas.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, though.

  6. Bah, that is far easier than what I did. You can't just hit her with maxed stats, because no matter what your stats are, you'll end up doing no more than three or four damage per hit, and she starts healing herself at a certain point. But what I did (and this took forever, and Imban's plan sounds much better) is Forcecage her, wait for it to wear off, then hit her with three Cloud of Blades spells, and use the last mage to Forcecage her again before she could move.

This required four magic-users with incredibly high Dexterity (and a LOT of patience), though.

  7. Click on "My Profile" at the top-right, then click on "View/Update Profile," then click on "Yes" under "Enable private messaging?"

If a topic is locked but you want to say something, make a new topic in an appropriate place. One. One new topic. Don't resurrect an old one and say something totally irrelevant.

  8. Uh, try to at least stay in the same thread or something.

Quick tutorial on PMing: bring up the member profile for the person you want to PM (usually by clicking on that person's name next to one of his or her posts). In the upper right-hand corner, underneath "Profile for [whoever]," there should be a link that says Send New Private Message. Click that. Then fill out the PM and send it.

  9. No, you can't check an SDF from a previous scenario.

As far as the other thread goes, my main point was that the posts were all from two years ago and clearly no longer relevant.

EDIT: You may be able to pull some black magic where you check an item from a previous scenario, but I'm not sure if this would accomplish anything.

  10. To the best of my knowledge, 1 is not possible. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about in 2, but it doesn't sound possible either.

EDIT: More detail on 1. As far as I know, you can only use cr_which_sheet in your custom objects script, which is loaded when the scenario starts.

  11. A fully independent site that stored the scenarios instead of just linking to them sounds like a really good idea. But what's going on with that idea about making these things designer-editable? I thought we were going to have a new database soon that would allow us to go in and update things directly instead of e-mailing and waiting.

Er, and what do you want about NK0P? How long it takes, the number of towns, and the number of outdoor sections? As best I recall, it's something like an hour, 15, and 1.
