I am almost done with the Great cave quests. I have explored up to Saffron and Fort Remote, now my question is should start in Spire and the towns in the Abyss?? or am I supposed to leave that for the end and head for Rhentar fortress first???

Thank you! I noticed I was doing things I was *not supposed* because when I touched the pylon in Patrick's There are still like 3 destination slots above it. Actually, I did the castle, the cemetery quest and fort emeral but haven't visited the towns NW (Blosk and the other one). I got the demonslayer but got rather disappointed for the little damage it inflicts, I will have to try it against a demon though ;-) I killed the shambler (?) surrounded by 4 pylons -It was tough- and saved one of the demons with 1 pylon I think just to test my new toy.

Thanks, I read the FAQ and found I had to kill the allies first and then the demon was not really difficult. I found 2 more though, one that changes and another blue one in the east which I decided to kill later, is that blue one tough?

I just visited Patrick's tower and they sent me down the tunnels to kill the tall Lord demon. My question is, should I wait to have the demonslayer blade or kill him now? I tried melee attacks and they barely did more than 10 hp

What I can say is that I love this engine. Playing Exile 1 for example was very difficult for a speaker of English as a second language; it took time to *come up* with the right words Here is easier because the possible questions and phrases are suggested, so thank you Jeff for this engine

I think you should be given the option to kiss her (the male members of the party of course). Adventurers should be more romantic, I would at least give her an apple.

you should just go for the job board and return quickly, the passage is *under* Almaria...

I have the blessed bow. When I had to escort the Vanhatai under Almaria I was doing like 20-29 damage with my best bowman, then the Vanhatai started using his razordisks and did like 55 damage to the guards! wow!

I am already in Fort Emerald to do the Crystal box quest, but was wondering about the 3rd Test which I still haven't found. The shade in test 2 said "in the tunnels northwest of Cotra" but when I am there I just see the forest with a couple of entrances to the chitrach's maze, is that what the shade meant? will I have to go down there to look again???

Thank you Thuryl! I have plenty of potions for very tough fights and therefore I haven't requested a lot of potion to order. I have a lot of herbs and was wondering how long should I keep saving them. I just reached the Castle and now I will definitely save them!

Another question: can you make your own potions if you have the right ingredients? I am asking because on the way to Almaria (south from the honeycomb) there's this merchant nephilim who sells herbs and even a kind of pot to mix them, so I was wondering if I should buy it or it's only alchemists at towns who can make them?? Thanks.

Is the 3rd test the one "X" asks you to perform (with his special lizard egg)??? if not, where is it? I have only done 2.

I just got the flame blade from the demon in the Tower. Besides protecting me from fire, is there any other hidden bonus?

For Avernum 5 I wish there was some kind of food (?) that restores your energy for mages and priests. Apples, meat and all the food restores your health, but I wish there was another way -besides energy potions- to do it

Thanks everybody, I finally got all of them and the rat tails too What I want to know now is what is the real effect of "static"? I've been fighting undead and some of them tend to "cover" me with static, but I don't see any strange icon or effect (like say curse or slow), so, what is static all about?

I loved those -be a hero- moments in Exile where you were told a group of soldiers had just been ambushed for example and you were expected to fight and help them for a reward later, that was great! or that Nephilim attack on Fort Draco where you had an important role defending the it. I really miss that!! PS: I don't miss secret passages or crate puzzles at all!

I am a programming-ignorant Avernum 4 player so could you please tell me how I can put those nice codes into my game to actually see the wand and not a code? And when you tell me the file, should I paste it at the beginning? middle? end? any place is good? Thank you and sorry

I have found two shipments, the one where the road turns (on a kind of wall) and the one by the bridge too, I think I am missing the one you mentioned about the lizardman camp, thanks! I thought it could have something to do with rats regenerating because it happened the same with the bat bits, I have returned and they are there again, so I'll have to be patient then, thank you again!

Hi, I usually come to this excellent forum when I need help and always find nice people willing to give their time to help me. I decided to create this thread so I (or anyone) won't have to be opening a new one for each question or puzzle we come across. My question now: I am already around Mertis and decided to complete old quests before doing the Cauldron spawn quest. Incredibly I am still unable to find the 3rd missing shipment someone in Fort Monastery asked me locate. Could anyone give indications for the 3 of them? I have looked at the walkthrough but haven't found positive results. Also, the "Rat Hunt around Formello" quest is proving difficult, I keep walking in circles but all I have found is just 3 rat tails For your time and help, thank you very much in advance! Marcelo.

I am starting to deal with chitrach around Cotra. Most of them drop a yellow fang, should I collect them? are they worth anything in the future?
