They are green but they are called "Mined Crystal" I am also saving, so far I have 45. Also, when they give me the "paper" quest, do they mean "Papyrus" right?

I have been asking questions lately which have all been successfully and quickly answered (thanks!). But today I remembered that my forum was only displaying the "5 last days" posts. This option can be changed (upper right). Set it to "show all topics" and you'll get about 15 pages(!) of many questions people were asking when the MAC version was first released. I learned a lot and found some answers to questions I had asked recently Some people, like Randomizer was kind enough to answer the questions at that time and has re-answered most of them lately without giving any sermon (thanks!) The typical questions (how to remove the geas, shares, khora vass, cheat list etc.) they are all there. It was fun to read the old posts and I learn things I didn't know, so... do that! it'll be worth it

Oh, so it's all about business hehe, thanks.

Well, I couldn't resist certain urges and went downstairs and looted his store. He caught me and is mad at me now, he won't trade anymore. I guess I lost my opportunity to buy shares uh? I tried the "pleaselikeme" cheat, but it didn't work. He still seems disappointed "I came as friend but revealed myself a thief" :S

It was a tought battle indeed. I discovered that the pit crawler is immune to fire, acid, poison, cold and smite. Trying to attack him with melee weapons was a bad idea as he rispostes wonderfully and you get poisoned. Also, when I first entered I took care of the worms -because the Pit Crawler does not attack you immediately, he just "watches" I guess. But this was a bad idea, the worms keep coming. Next time (when I reloaded I started attacking him immediately and found that the only way to combat him was with ranged weapons. Javelins and bows rock, especially if your warrios uses a battle discipline before

Thank you for your info. I am glad I don't need to necessarily buy bow AND thrown points because my warrior prefers thrown and my nephil is all about bows (like all the good cats)

Hi and welcome, I can give you a little help, but let's hope those who understand the game better will post later too. 1. I usually use the stuff I like (bigger swords, steel javelins, better armors) and when I see that I am about to get encumbered, I decide to improve my strength points. So, The game in itself usually gives me the hint to "when it's time to improve" one characteristic according to the needs I see as the game progresses and the stuff I find. 2. I don't think they are so useless at the beginning of the game. If you analyze the "icy rain" mage spell. In the first level covers a small area, but as you buy improvements, that area increases and you can "rain" more enemies. The priest spell "summon shade" also brings a more powerful shade as you increase the improvements of that spell. 3. I tend to see magery/spellcraft pretty similarly, but intelligence is mostly good for increasing your energy points and resist charming or other mental spells. Hope this helps, greetings

I assume you learn more of these during the game, is that right? When I started I had a human warrior and a Nephilim warrior(archer) in my party. The Nephil started with 4 disciplines by default and the human with 3. I am in the middle of chapter 3 now and my warrior has a new ability now. My question is: How and when do you get new ones? I don't remember any trainer saying "now I'll teach you a new battle discipline" or maybe was it something I picked up? Or is it that for every 5 melee points you add, you get a new one? thanks,

Dellinger, Aminro & Ronaldo
Darkdread replied to ExodusIsaRunDownCity's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
I am already in Chapter 3, but gave up trying to find Ronaldo. I have discovered the north part of the isles, explored the tunnels but nothig. Could anyone please give more exact references? thanks! What I did find is an entrance, which is a lethal trap. Whenever my party enters the door is shut and I get a message about the hot geyser -sorry I'm just trying to remember the name- and some lizards which I kill, but then I just find another closed door and the little geysers finish me. Is that the entrance to Ronaldo's lair? is that a pointless trap or is there any kind "switch" I've missed perhaps? Thanks, -
haha, thank you very much. I saved 1,000 now Yeah, that conversation made me laugh, actually there's increased humor in A5, I think, which is great.

I agree with Dikiyoba, the boat has the tendency to get stuck by rocks or coast.

So, my adventurers offered the representative of a trading company in Harkin's Landing to buy a Share for 1,000. The man said yes. My question, is it 'profitable' to make that investment? or just a rip off? :S

Maybe just because I am curious I would have expected a "Yes" answer, and then the "SPOILER Ahead" to answer the second question, I would have stopped reading then, but it's ok, Randomizer took notice and edited Anyway, when I see the Vanhatai I will pretend I know nothing, like "wow, Vanhatai? cool!"
-
Randomizer forgot the *spoiler* alert! -Upon Randomizer's kind "spoiler alert" adding, I take my word back

My wish is simple and yet powerful: Avernum 6
-
Ahh thank you.

I have bought bows, but STILL haven't found anyone in the demo who sells arrows! why are they so scarce?
-
Where is that exactly? I have walked around New Harston but haven't heard of that croky, did I miss it? or am I supposed to find it in the full version?

Differences between easy and torment?
Darkdread replied to Darkdread's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
Thank you, I knew it was a sort of elementary question, but it's clearer now. I'm still afraid to try Torment yet -
I like playing in "easy" level, but I am curious about the other levels. What are the difference for example between "torment" and "easy"? Having to fight 6 goblins instead of 3? Having to hit a goblin 4 times instead of 1 to kill him? Taking 3 times more damage from that goblin? Having to pay higher prices when you buy? etc. I've been only playing the demo, that's why I ask. Thanks,
-
Yeah, I saved the Lizzy before it was even attacked but then he left in a hurry.
-
Oh that quest brought tears to my eyes, the poor lizar "resigned to his fate" waiting to be devored...

Ok so, to avoid creating unnecesary topics I'll put my question here, after all it's related. I'm playing the demo. I haven't been to the Lord of the rats cave yet But since I started, one Nephilim in the blackchasm outpost told me there were noises, like scratches in his room. I went there and I got a message saying that it sounds as if someone was on the other side of the wall. It seems to me there is something like a hidden tunnel(?). Is it accesible during the demo? -don't tell me how, I'll figure it out, or is it a part of the game that is revealed further in the game? -say when you have the full version? Thanks,
