Er, not every name listed above is a publicly displayed name, I think. Could someone clear up discrepancies please?

Hmm. So if Domont gets a role wrong, i.e. SIC BANDITS ON *i AS CRANKY MODERATOR but *i is actually the Benevolent Administrator, wouldn't the conspicuous lack of banditry alert Domont to his mistake? That might not be too bad a problem since it would mean that Domont has wasted an action, I guess.

I think it would be too hard for the DLs to coordinate in such a way. If all they have is one-way communication from Domont to the two others, the Blademaster (say) can't reply to an order with "I can't do that because X knows who I am and anyway I've already acted". Also, the DLs wouldn't be able to trade items. Gladwell starts off knowing the Bound Servant, the Anama Priest and Micklebur start off knowing each other; I think the DLs should start off knowing each other too. By the time we managed to get in contact with each other, other alliances were further along. I'm not sure how to rework Domont's role in light of this.

I think a problem with the Adventurer/Spy, and maybe also with the DLs, is that since they have a wide range of possible targets, no one wants to risk allying with them. Maybe their failure is also linked to Machrone's relative success? Maybe Machrone needs to be part of a successful alliance, which prevents Spy/Adventurer from joining if they have him as a target? Thus, even though they can get by with only killing two people, no one wants to risk it being them. Maybe we could try reducing their target lists and see what happens. In any case, their having Machrone on their list doesn't seem to be hurting him any.

Who told Omlette that he was a target of ours, by the way? Looking at the past games, I notice that only two darksiders have ever won, and in separate games at that. I think it's hard for them to build alliances because they need a lot of people dead, and they don't have as much to offer allies as do the Anama and Gladwell. Perhaps their secret targets serve as a disadvantage because they make them less trustworthy. I don't think it's (only) my own ineptness since they have consistently failed to exert much influence.

I misplayed. I thought Excalibur was Ronaldo, and should have attacked him instead of cursing him. Is it intended for the Darkside Loyalists to take as long as they do to identify each other? I managed to confirm Domont's identity even without being sent a keyword — by quizzing him on our targets — but I'm not sure if we lost so quickly due to deficient playing or because our enemies had a natural advantage.

Regarding Machrone's ability: Do you guarantee a truthful answer? What's to stop coercive questions like, "Will you answer no to this question or give me a list of every player and their role?"

Well, I told Dikiyoba that Ash was the priest because that's what my faction informed me. Admittedly, I was working somewhat outside my faction's endorsement, so maybe we all could have coordinated more. My job was pretty easy. None of my enemies made it into this round, and I was one of Gladwell's targets so I had a built in support network. It's pretty easy for Oliver and Strine to work together, I think, if they can identify each other; one needs lots of items, and the other needs to make lots of items. I thought TM and Sarachim played Gladwell/Servant very well. In particular, for TM to pose as the skribbane addict initially was a good way to try to locate his target Strine. I didn't get the impression that Shanker was very effective this round, but maybe I just didn't see what was going on behind the scenes. EDIT: Others have commented on Shanker's situation better than I.

no new stuff in the mod shop?

Hello everyone. As you may have heard, I'm Craftmaster Strine. I'm willing to make items for people in a mutually beneficial arrangement. Items I can make are on the left, followed by the ingredients I need. Crystal Spire = Killer Poison + Ironskin Balm Heroic Brew = Warding Crystal Wand of Death = Antidote + Resistance Elixir Poison Potion = Disruption Crystal Rod of Alacrity = Ivory Skull PM me if you're interested.

Did anyone ever actually confirm my identity? I'm wondering whether it would have been possible for Vahkos to pretend to be the Bound Servant in order to obtain the Holy Symbol.
-
"Game Moderator resurrects Micklebur" huh? In any case, thanks Stareye for moderating! It was a fun time. I won despite being largely in the dark about most of the roles; I basically relied on the absence of the Infiltrator after I felt Gladwell die and then threw myself on the mercy of the other players.
-
And PGLB was Gladwell.
-
I'd like to borrow the Holy Symbol from whoever has it. I'll give it right back, I promise.

Big deal, I know who the Anama are too. Send ME the wand of death.

I like the Channeler's ability too, though I can't think of a good goal either. Maybe take a page out of The Sixth Sense's book: the Channeler has to satisfy a certain number of dead players' goals.

On the other hand, if giving Skribbane is allowed, then one can team up with the Skribbane Addict and plant Skribbane on someone, giving the Skribbane Addict first strike against them, turning it into a game of Hot Potato. (I failed to apply this strategy last game, but I think it could work in principle.) I don't see how to resolve both of these problems simultaneously.

Was Creator the one to destroy the DL alliance? My poor decision to use the assassin leather to try kill Doom Warrior was partly at fault; even if Creator put DW on my trail, I would have killed DW first had I just used magic. Great game! Thanks Stareye for running it.

Note to anyone trying and failing to find it: the typo in "macpreist" might be to blame; Versiontracker and Macupdate aren't too tolerant of typos.

House Unshaperlike Activities Committee
wz. As replied to Emperor Tullegolar's topic in Geneforge Series
Now really. Killing off innocent people? Murdering all Shapers without hesitation? And calling my PC a charismatic evil leader, despite the fact that I invested barely any points in leadership? Let us not assassinate this PC further, Emperor. You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency? -

I take offense to that. I sided with the Trakovites because I thought the other two options were too extreme. Why am I suddenly the bad guy? I see absolutely no parallel between the Nazis and the Trakovites. The Trakovites want everyone to be equal! Explain yourself. -

Ridiculous droppings
wz. As replied to Punctuation rains from the heavens's topic in Geneforge Series
Kelandon: Agreed. Slarty: Intention is relevant, because although the probability of getting three thahdskin tunics in a row is very small, there are many events which could be considered "unlikely," the occurrence of any of which might prompt one to post a new topic about it. For instance, we could just as easily be reading a new topic about getting four consecutive vlish tentacle drops or doing 66 damage with an ice crystal three turns in a row. I guess what I'm saying is that 1) although the probability of three thahdskin tunics is small, the amount of surprise derived therefrom may be unwarranted, and 2) the random number generator need not necessarily have any bias, since the odds of any surprising event happening are probably not too low.
