  1. An all-fighter party is very inefficient. You need to be able to Bless and Haste your fighters. EDIT: A scenario that requires an all-fighter party may be interesting, but for general use, a no-spellcaster group is only useful for giving yourself an interesting challenge.
  2. The ultimate place for BoA scripts. Come and post your own!
  3. People will ask for testers when they need them.

So I don't know if I should aim lower in my first attempt and then go for more ambitious scenarios or not waste my energy and just go for the complicated scenario. I can't really tell you what the right decision is here, but I can tell you what I did in the same situation. My first scenario, Isle of Boredom, was a very ambitious project. I put a lot of work into stuff that wasn't all that important, but which I really wanted to do. Since I was a newbie, some of the cool stuff I tried doesn't work very well. Some things do work well, and add a lot to the scenario. Every scenario I've made since then has been just as ambitious, but much more functional. On the other hand, without the experience of Isle of Boredom, I may have simply delayed my mistakes instead of avoiding them. Besides, I don't think I COULD make a simple scenario - I'd get tired of it long before I ever finished. Up to you, of course, but I'm glad I had a shot.
  5. TM and/or Bruce Mitchell might have played every scenario. I'm not sure. I think Alec might be working on one. Not sure about this either. And I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't talk about projects under development because of the inevitable embarassment if I never finish them.
  6. I, personally, would love to see the party turned into an active character. Possibly, though, you may prefer to specify a 1PC party and include a couple of NPCs which will help throughout the scenario and who have interesting personalities. Or not. But I'd much, much rather play a scenario that tries to do something clever and different than one that is afraid to be too different from other scenarios in case people don't like it.
  7. Goodness, is it the third week of the month already? Week 1: Will anyone keep making BoE scenarios now BoA is out? Week 2: Someone please make a new scenario! Week 3: How about... wait for it... a COLLABORATION! Week 4: I'm never going to make a scenario, but here are some ideas for those who are! Must be.
  8. Depends how short. Babysitting (one town, one dungeon) is really a bit too short. Anything longer than that is fine - I don't think anyone's complained about the length of Zankozzie's Big Mistake or Johnny Favourite. As long as it's big enough to explore the story properly.
  9. Basically, it depends how good a player you are. If you're very experienced, HP is a waste of skill points - you can get that from going up levels. If you're a beginner, it'll be tough for you to survive early on without a few health points up your sleeve.
  10. Take the tapestry off the wall and have another look.
  11. Just let the player know what kind of party you're expecting them to play with. They don't have to use it, but if they don't, all problems become their fault.
  12. Areni has a sort-of suicide ending as well. Probably your best shot would be to play scenarios that have done it before, see which ones work well and which ones don't, and go from there.
  13. I think Brett has an unhealthy obsession with Erika. But still, way cool graphic. Put it up at the Louvre or something.
  14. The number of goblins who have nothing better to do than sit around waiting for adventurers to kill them for XP always annoyed me... so I made a scenario where they get a bit of their own back. Anyway, one of my graphics from Revenge could probably be used as a Blade Beast or something similar.
  15. 1. Luz, without a shadow of a doubt. We could argue all day whether her best or Farland's best is better, but her average quality is a chuck higher and she's done a lot more. 2. Tim Farland. He's produced some stunning graphics. 3. Relhan. Nothing of his, I think, reaches the height of Luz or Tim's best work, but he has made a large number of very good graphics and deserves a mention.
  16. Probably you're sending to my old address - I'm now at barcoorah@ozemail.com.au.
  17. 9x9 is 81 outdoor sections. At the Gallows is a massive scenario, and it has only 36.
  18. No. Start designing a scenario and it will come around quickly enough, trust me. However, a smaller contest may be held by the Blades community in the meantime.
  19. I've replied to your PM. Sorry for taking so long, but I hardly ever check them.
  20. I think it's a very good technique, which I and many other designers use. Go for it. Don't sweat too much if you can't make it foolproof, just let them know that it's important for storyline/combat balance.
  21. When a designer wants testers, he'll ask for them. Until then, just wait around and maybe play a bit of BoE.
